Not content with the chocolate molten cake, we ordered a serving of waffles as well. It is a good thing that the serving was small, only two pieces of square waffles. They come with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, some chocolate sauce and some strawberry compote. The waffles were soft and fluffy, not the crunchy type. The strawberry compote was definitely the star, sweet and slightly sourish, it makes complemented the entire dish very well.

We were all looking forward to dessert, albeit a very full stomach. According to one of our friends, the stomach has two compartments, one for savoury main course, while the other is for dessert. The chocolate molten cake came, very simply decorated with some icing sugar and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. The chocolate filling flowed out when we poked it through. Not too sweet, it was well paired with the vanilla ice-cream. Definitely a thumbs-up!

By this time, all of us were pretty stuffed. However, the last dish that came was Hawaiian BBQ pork. We were practically groaning when we saw the dish. However, the pork, nicely grilled, was actually not that heavy. It also helps when there is a ring of pineapple, which gives it a tangy taste. Served with some corn, pan-fried potatoes and some brown gravy, it was quite delicious!

After having so much meat, it was delighting to see that the next dish served was salmon. A piece of succulent salmon grilled to perfection, served with some broiled vegetables and alfalfa sprouts as garnishing. They also provided a wedge of lemon for those who prefers it. I personally like the salmon as it is, full of fishy flavour. The dish is also very light, definitely a great addition to the meal.

Hubby wanted to try the pork chorizo sausage, which we proceeded to order. The sausage has bits of fat and lean meat in it, which makes it very juicy. There were also bits of dried smoked red peppers in it, which complemented the taste very well. The best part was, it comes wrapped in bacon. Served with some broiled vegetables and brown sauce, this is one pork sausage not to be missed!

One of friends wanted to try the pork neck, and we all unanimously agreed. The pork neck was grilled to perfection. The fatty bits were crispy, and the lean meat was very juicy. It was served with some potatoes sprinkled with some herbs and slices of chilli. There were also some crunchy greens served, together with half a cherry tomato, presumably for decoration and colour. Definitely a very yummy dish!

I have had scallops before, and I have definitely had lychees before. But I have never tried them both together in a dish. The lychees tasted like the canned lychees, not fresh ones, but that was fine. The scallops were grilled nicely, juicy and full of seafood taste. Served with some greens and tomatoes, this is quite a light dish, but very delectable! Definitely recommended!

The name crispy bacon lollipop was very intriguing and we decided to give it a try. The dish was really like a lollipop, with a stick stuck on each ball. Fried to golden perfection, the breaded outer layer was crispy, while the insides were actually pork balls with a hint of cheese in it. Served with some mayonnaise sauce, the lollipops were decorated with the same type of greens as the cheese stuffed mushrooms. Definitely worth a try!

We ordered the cheese stuffed mushrooms next. Each mushroom was quartered and had a generous amount of cheese baked on top. The taste was definitely quite special. The mushrooms were still very juicy and went very well with the slight saltiness of the cheese. Some rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes and salad leaves were also part of the décor, and we literally vacuumed it all off. Thumbs-up!

A group of friends invited hubby and I to Leonardo’s Dining Room And Wine Loft for dinner. The restaurant is located on Jalan Bangkung in Bangsar, which we had no problem finding. We started off with some mushroom soup. Creamy and delicious, it was served peppered with some olive oil and green herbs. There were bits of mushrooms in it, and it was definitely a good starter!

Leonardo’s Dining Room is located around little shop along Jalan Bangkung at Bukit Bandararya. They serves fusion food ranging from pizza, spaghetti, pork knuckle to bak kut teh and hokkien mee. I started off with a very cute dishes- The Crispy Bacon Lollipop. This dishes is actually a breaded pork balls on satay sticks served in a glass of salt and a mayonnaise based sauce to make it more delicious. Once you bite into the pork balls, you’ll know that there’s a mixture of cheese and pork in it.

For the main course, I had the Spanish Black Pig Shoulder Loin Steak which doesn’t come cheap at RM 55 per dish. The steak was served medium rare with some picon blue risotto mustard sauce. The meat was very tender with the right fat but it goes very well with the mustard sauce. This dish is best taking together with some red wine. Next, I try their grilled pork neck (RM 25 ) with spicy mango. This is truly refreshing menu for me as I never try pork neck with something sour and spicy. I like the cilantro salsa that came with this dishes but the oiliness of the pork neck really turn me off. A worthy successor to what was once the Attic, but its long-term prospects seem uncertain. More than ever, there's so much competition on this street for the same customers. Foie gras with berry compote and glazed endive. What's not to like, right? Waldorf salad, with granny smith apples, turnip, grapes, walnuts and fruit cheese. A terrific mix, with the added advantage of being a fairly healthy dish. Bacon-wrapped boiled salmon with spinach. Magnificently moist.
