I never thought about this place. Then suddenly mum wanted to eat something other than Japanese food or fine dining. Since we were along Jalan Gasing, this place popped into my mind. I never thought about this place. Then suddenly mum wanted to eat something other than Japanese food or fine dining. Since we were along Jalan Gasing, this place popped into my mind. Luckily the food did not take long to arrive. In fact, the food arrived in 5 minutes! It was unbelievable.

I ordered the Umbra Juice Mini Jug (RM 10.50) which could accommodate at least 5 pax.

We ordered the Red Seafood Tom Yam at RM 23. It arrived within seconds after we ordered probably because they had a big pot cooked ready and warm. Anyway, no complaints from us as we were ready to dig in. The soup was just nice and as spicy as I liked. I remembered complaining in Chiang Mai last week about how not spicy was the tom yam and the white santan only disgusting green curry chicken which ruined my impression of Thailand.

There are so many ingredients inside the Green Curry Chicken such as eggplants, chicken, chillies and lots of long beans. I really love it because it was just right, not too thick too.

Can you believe it that the tom yam and green curry chicken are way better than the one I had in Chiang Mai? All the seafood used are superb and so fresh and tasty.

The Seafood Otak-otak (RM 18) was not the normal otak-otak with lots of egg. This has a lot of spices, santan, big pieces of fish, prawns and octopus. The otak-otak is similar to the one I had in Kepong. The gravy reminds me of thick wet rendang styled curry.

Our last dish was small Claypot Glass Noodles with prawns (RM 18). Luckily, the glass noodles were not as salty as the one I tried in Raja Uda. This is also less oily. The glass noodles came together with a lot of fresh succulent prawns.

With so many varieties of dishes here, we are definitely making a comeback especially since this cafe is relatively so near to my house.

Been here a couple of times & they never disappoint. Good variety of Thai dishes made with fresh ingredients. Slightly on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Make sure you start off with their tom yam. Spicy with chock-full of seafood goodies. Other notable mentions would be the chilli lime or salted egg squid, glass noodle salad, thai style siakap & steamed lala. Heard their other seafood dishes are just as good. The overall atmosphere is average. Mostly outdoor wooden seating with plants all around. Cosy but a bit dark & mosquitoes might be a problem at times. Service is average. Food does come out pretty quick. Do note it can get busy during prime hours. Overall a decent place for some good Thai food.

Stir-fried sambal belacan paku-paki (wild vegeable) is one of the dish you can order besides their stir-fried sambal belacan mixed vegetables. We ordered a small one but this came in a big portion. Price wise it is reasonable. In term of taste, you can enjoy the sweet spicy sambal taste with a texture of vegetables which is slightly crunchy at the sterm of the vegetables. If you like paku-paki, you may order this.

Ok this is super awesome! Couldn't resist the thick sambal and seafood lala.Khunthai served the best sambal lala so far as compared to other Thai restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. This fried lala dish is cooked with chili padi, basil leaves and real thick sambal. However, it would be great if they make it ever more spicy! I find it not so spicy after all. Lala is big and the lala meat is succulent and fresh.

OMG MY FAVOR!!!Seafood Tom Yum Khung!

When I was in Phuket last month, I had Tom Yum Khung almost every day every night!
So there was this Sunday when I was craving for Thai food, I went and looked around in the internet and surprised to get some good reviews for this KhunThai Restaurant. And yes, especially their homemade tom yum soup! Taste wise the soup is really thick! which is a good point for me to achieve the real awesome tom yum, I have ordered it with seafood (as you can choose to cook the soup with chicken or seafood etc). Ingredients wise it has alot of ingredients like fish, squid, alot of prawns and oyster mushroom sprinkled with some vegetables. If you are free, visit this restaurant for food. Thanks god we were there early because the place was packed with people when we finished our dinner.

This was so good! It was tangy and the fish meat was steamed to perfection. It was smooth and although it was a little bit spicy, it added flavour to the dish. Best to have this with a bowl of steaming hot rice! There were tons of garlic in this and it was savoury and sour at the same time. The taste was heavenly and you can't stop eating it once you start!

This was fried well but another tasteless dish. There were no salt or sweet taste of prawns in this. It was bouncy but i think even those that you buy from the supermarket would taste better than this. Well, it's supposingly homemade but it really is a disgrace for them to serve this dish. There were too much batter coating the prawns anyway.

This chicken dish was so bland and tasteless. There was absolutely no flavour in it, i don't even know if they just fried it without even seasoning or marinating it beforehand. But, it was juicy without taste. Such a waste, i thought it would be good. There was some lemon juice in this though. Awful.

The soup was really rich and there were prawns, abalone mushroom, squids and fish in it! The serving was huge and we had extra leftover soup which we packed back after that. The prawns were huge in size and although, it was a little too sour to my liking, its spiciness was enough to make this my favourite food of the day!

Fried tauhu with thai chili sauce; the taste is great especially when you mix it with their thai chili sauce the outer part of the tauhu is very crispy and the inner part have a very soft texture. The tauhu doesn't feel oily at all.

Overally the food is nice but the tom yum is not the taste as I expect.
