I never thought about this place. Then suddenly mum wanted to eat something other than Japanese food or fine dining. Since we were along Jalan Gasing, this place popped into my mind. Luckily the food did not take long to arrive. In fact, the food arrived in 5 minutes! It was unbelievable. I ordered the Umbra Juice Mini Jug (RM 10.50) which could accommodate at least 5 pax. We ordered the Red Seafood Tom Yam at RM 23. It arrived within seconds after we ordered probably because they had a big pot cooked ready and warm. Anyway, no complaints from us as we were ready to dig in. The soup was just nice and as spicy as I liked. I remembered complaining in Chiang Mai last week about how not spicy was the tom yam and the white santan only disgusting green curry chicken which ruined my impression of Thailand. There are so many ingredients inside the Green Curry Chicken such as eggplants, chicken, chillies and lots of long beans. I really love it because it was just right, not too thick too. Can you believe it that the tom yam and green curry chicken are way better than the one I had in Chiang Mai? All the seafood used are superb and so fresh and tasty. The Seafood Otak-otak (RM 18) was not the normal otak-otak with lots of egg. This has a lot of spices, santan, big pieces of fish, prawns and octopus. The otak-otak is similar to the one I had in Kepong. The gravy reminds me of thick wet rendang styled curry. Our last dish was small Claypot Glass Noodles with prawns (RM 18). Luckily, the glass noodles were not as salty as the one I tried in Raja Uda. This is also less oily. The glass noodles came together with a lot of fresh succulent prawns. With so many varieties of dishes here, we are definitely making a comeback especially since this cafe is relatively so near to my house.  continue reading

Been here a couple of times & they never disappoint. Good variety of Thai dishes made with fresh ingredients. Slightly on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Make sure you start off with their tom yam. Spicy with chock-full of seafood goodies. Other notable mentions would be the chilli lime or salted egg squid, glass noodle salad, thai style siakap & steamed lala. Heard their other seafood dishes are just as good. Don't forget to wash it all down with their umbra juice. Very fresh & tasty. Great cure for the spice. The overall atmosphere is average. Mostly outdoor wooden seating with plants all around. Cosy but a bit dark & mosquitoes might be a problem at times. Service is average. Food does come out pretty quick. Do note it can get busy during prime hours. Overall a decent place for some good Thai food. continue reading

Stir-fried sambal belacan paku-paki (wild vegeable) is one of the dish you can order besides their stir-fried sambal belacan mixed vegetables. We ordered a small one but this came in a big portion. Price wise it is reasonable. In term of taste, you can enjoy the sweet spicy sambal taste with a texture of vegetables which is slightly crunchy at the sterm of the vegetables. If you like paku-paki, you may order this. continue reading

This was so good! It was tangy and the fish meat was steamed to perfection. It was smooth and although it was a little bit spicy, it added flavour to the dish. Best to have this with a bowl of steaming hot rice! There were tons of garlic in this and it was savoury and sour at the same time. The taste was heavenly and you can't stop eating it once you start! continue reading

They have branches in Penang and also Petaling Jaya. the price is slightly little expensive. Their Seafood Tom Yum is not so spicy which i prefer spicier thout but the aroma of the tom yum soup is superb. their Belacan Petai is also very tasty , the steamed Thai style fish is also very fresh and nice. The environment is very cozy and you feel like you are in Thailand. Its a good place to enjoy authentic Thai Food continue reading
