There are a whole lot of merchandises're selling Ipoh local biscuit and other packaged crackers surrounding the popular Bean Sprout Chicken restaurant like "Lou Wong" and "Aun Kei". I will recommend you to visit a bakery shop that is famous for it's "fresh" baked Kaya Puff. where you can see long queue almost everyday in the afternoon.

Besides kaya puff there are also other of local baked biscuits (I don't know their names cause I love only the kaya puff lol) but one can identify which is the most popular in the bakery shop, the big baking tray which can be placed dozens of Kaya Puffs will almost run out just after a few customers and you can see how constantly the boss (I guess) changes the baking tray.

This is the Kaya Puff that I am writing about, you are advised to savor one immediately when it is still hot, make sure don't eat them in your cars because it's soft texture confirm you that with every bite crumbs will fall from the biscuit.

Their biscuits is running fast during weekends and public holidays, thus please give them a call before going, to avoid disappointment. Their biscuits should satisfy your cravings for some light refreshment.

The kaya puffs in Sin Eng Heong is popular not only among the locals but also among the many tourists who visits Ipoh. They sell in 2 different sizes which you can choose from a box of 5 (RM4) or a box of 10 (RM8). When I arrived, I had to wait for 15 minutes or so before the kaya puffs were freshly taken out from the oven. The kaya puffs were fluffy and light on the many layers of crust. In fact, it breaks easily upon biting it, so it is better to eat it with a plate. The kaya was still warm when I ate it. It was fragrant with full of kaya taste. The kaya was also very smooth and surprisingly not as firm compared to many other inferior ones outside. It is absolutely delicious for breakfast or tea.

Prior to finally making up our mind to drop by this place before we departed back to where we belong, it was still part of our undecided plan after reading through Kenwooi's review about his experience. Then we thought to ourselves, how often do we come to Ipoh? If we don't treasure the moment we have, when else would it happen again? Hence, here we were, arriving at Sin Eng Heong with the help of Waze.Unfortunately, it was just a grab-and-go sort of visit. We didn't have the ample time to peak

Unfortunately, it was just a grab-and-go sort of visit. We didn't have the ample time to peak into the kitchen and observe the process of producing these delicious puffs like what Kenwooi did, unless we returned home late. Nevertheless, we had the opportunity to meet the old uncle, who is known as the mastermind behind Sin Eng Heong. He was taking his short break, I supposed, by walking in front of the store while looking around the street. Seeing that we left with two bags full of what he made, he gave us a glorious smile.

Although some of you may think that the skin is a little too thick for your preferences, it tasted perfectly fine. Honestly, we almost gave up looking for it, until Waze told us that Sin Eng Heong was located near to where we were at, then. RM18.50 for a box of 5 Kaya Puffs, another box of 10 Kaya Puffs, and a packet of Heong Peng, we thought it was considered okay.
