Banana leaf rice in Kashmir Café serves a lot of varieties. Rice is served in a big and fresh banana leaf and once the hot rice is on the leaf, the aroma of banana leaf make the dish very appetizing. The fried chicken is nice, and the lamb curry is my favourite. Papadam is crunchy, and with rasem (the small cup of drink taste cooling with a little spice) it's a remedy to cool down too much of spicy food. ;)

My favorite roti canai is actually from this place. However, do note that the roti canai sold here is more expensive than many places. But sometimes i just want to indulge myself in this comfort food. If i take away the roti canai, it will be wrapped in a slice of banana leaf too. The aroma from the banana leaf is mild but makes its presence felt in the roti canai. The roti canai is non oily and i love their fish curry. The fish curry is spicy and flavorful. It goes well with the roti canai

I am indian banana leaves rice lover, cause it come with some curry chicken / mutton / fish or tandoori chicken. The most popular dish at kashmir cafe here is Banana Leaves. I am ready to try , see whether can make me satisfy or not. Initially i thought need to wait a bit longer time to grill tandoori chicken. But they didn't disappoint me, quite prompt and delivery to my table.

Having tried the mango lassi, I was excited when my boyfriend recommended this salt lassi for my next visit. I did order this but did not find myself liking it because I have sweet tooth. Flavored with just salt, you can taste the original flavor of lassi, which is a good thing. However I just like it sweet. Texture wise, it was very frothy and smooth on tongue. It was very filling on its own too.

Tenggiri is not my favorite fish but I do enjoy them casually. Being told that their fried tenggiri is good, I decided to have one as well. The tenggiri was very fresh and fried to the right crispiness without jeopardizing the texture of the meat. The tenggiri fish was very soft on the inside, and crispy on the outside. You could have it with lime juice or not. For me I love it with lime as it helped to spice up the flavor.

The idea of banana leaf rice is very appealing to those carbo lovers. Me myself is not so much of a rice lover. However banana leaf rice was something I have not tried here though I do hear good things about it. The rice was very cooked to the right fluffiness without being soggy, the side dishes seemed to taste like freshly made. Flavor wise, I would say it was very balanced. The one I loved most was the bottom left vege, salted but not bland. The other two side dishes were just normal.

I like to eat fish tenggiri when come to eat banana leaf rice. The ikan tenggiri here is very nice to eat. You can here the fresh fried oil sound when it is served. Of course it is very hot. Then when you squeeze some lime on top of it, the lime juice immediately soaked into the fish meat. The fish meat is very fresh and very sweet. Plus a little bit sour taste from the lime you squeezed. A very good appetite food.

Having an egg in the morning sounds like a good start of the day. Instead of having roti canai, I opted for thosai due to the marvelous experience with Thosai Chicken Masala Rava. The thosai had some parts which was paper thin and crispy while some parts which was thicker and slightly soggy. The distribution of the egg was not ideal and flavor wise, it did not taste as eggy as I would like it to be. The flavor was rather mild and I would recommend you to go with kuah and/or sambal.

It has been awhile since I last had roti canai. To me, roti canai has to be fluffy and soft and at the same time, less oily. The version at Kashmir was not as fluffy and soft as I would like it to be. In contrary, it was dense and thick but one thing for sure, it was not oily. The smell of telur and bawang was awesome and it was soft and hot in the inside. The taste of egg was accentuated by the presence of bawang.

The last I had soursop lassi, I loved it. Now that I had guava soursop lassi, I loved it more than the soursop lassi! Apart from the mild difference in sweetness between the two lassis, both tasted strongly of sour flavor in yoghurt and the texture was dense and frothy. Guava soursop lassi was less sweet and easier to finish. After finishing the lassi, I was already half full. Kashmir knows their lassi well

For all I know, Indian desserts are always SWEET-UNTIL-CAN-DIE. True enough, some are so extreme that I just couldn't take another bite but for this donut, it was sweet but bearable. The size of the donut was rather small and easily finished by one but flavor wise, I would recommend two to share. It was dense and slightly crumbly. I have no clue what it should be called or what are the ingredients it is made of. The chewiness it presented was delightful but I started to get bored after few bites.
