I did not know many halal places near my office. My all-time favourite is the ladies finger yellow style curry.

The fish curry is also tasty. The Fried Papadum is so crispy and thinly fried and so tasty to the core.

My coconut juice was RM 4.50.

This place is very near my home. Its extremely popular with the lunch crowd especially for their banana leaf and freshly fried stuff. Have to admit the food is good and I recommend their fried chicken, chicken or mutton masala, banana leaf, roti canai, poori and even the fried noodles. Price wise its on the upper end of indian cuisine but for the quality I guess its justified. However the service is crap. However the service is crap. You'll be annoyed trying to get the attention of the waiters and then for the food to actually show up. Sadly we also notice they service certain people better than others. Am sure you can get my drift by this remark. Due to this we rarely go here unless need to due to convenience. Service is 50% of a restaurant experience and this place fails misearably!

Kanna Curry house is a famous high class mamak in seksyen 17. They offer nice environment (with air-cond and without). And most importantly their roti are really Nice. Even the roti Kosong is super nice, crispy and tasting great. The roti planta is also nice. The secret to eat good roti is to request for crispy one.

It is another curry house in petaling jaya. I love the curry chicken here. The curry is so rich and thick. It is nice and delicious to eat with rice. The sambal prawn also not bad, but it is a bit too spicy. The fried sotong here is quite crispy. Other than curry, the roti canai here is also quite nice. It is very crispy. the environment is quite clean and the staff is also friendly.

Many would have already known them, but I thought it would be a good share. There are few around PJ area and I never really did have a favourite outlet. Here, like most Indian restaurant serves 3 dishes, rice, 3 gravy (chicken, fish and dahl). I definitely find their dahl least impressive than Paandi’s. But their service gets a five star. Here, I tried the sambal prawn which I don’t think was really fresh. And if you ask me, the texture of the prawn on that day was almost closed to mushy. And for

Here, I tried the sambal prawn which I don’t think was really fresh. And if you ask me, the texture of the prawn on that day was almost closed to mushy. And for those not too favourable to spicy food, you can forget about ordering this. It was fiery hot.

In contrary to the prawn, the curry mutton was delectable. It wasn’t too hard, and it doesn’t have lots of fats on it. But then again, these can be subjected to the daily ingredient.

I usually like fried fish roe a lot, but they were out on that day. So I went for the fried squid instead. Fresh squid coated with chili flour and some curry leaves. It was crunchy on the outside and scrumptious on the inside. They were really good with controlling the time to not overcook the squid. Therefore, it wasn’t hard or rubbery. In fact it was soft and chewy.

Do note that this meal had cost me almost Rm 50. So I would say do think twice when ordering the side dishes.

Teh Tarik. We sat in the indoor of the restaurant as the outdoor was full house. The service was a bit slow. I ordered a teh tarik, as usual. I ordered the "kurang manis" version and it came just nice for me, the sweetness level was not too strong. The teh tarik was nicely being tarik till a thick layer of bubbles. It was fragrant and aromatic with the milk in it. Not a bad drink.

Ice Lemon Tea. It was very packed during the weekend lunch time. We wanted to seat outdoor under the tree area as it was quite cooling but it was full. We had to sit inside the restaurant which was quite stuffy. The ice lemon tea was served in plastic cup and filled with ice. The taste of the tea was strong with a little bit of lemon tanginess in it. Not a bad drink for a hot weather.

Mutton Curry. Since there were two of us, and we had ordered one portion of fried chicken, we added on the curry mutton. The gravy was not extremely thick type of texture. It was salty and quite spicy. The mutton was slightly tender and has strong mutton flavour. Some pieces were nice, some pieces had some tendon in it which made it not so nice to chew. Overall, it was just so-so.

Fried chicken. I remember the last time I tried their fried chicken, it was not being served like this, maybe I ordered the wrong one. This fried chicken drumbstick does not look appealing at all. Indeed, it was not much meat, and not so strong taste of spice marination. The skin was not too crispy despite being deep fried. It was not too salty and tasted quite bland to me.

Vetables Condiments. When I visited this restaurant, I was surprised that they no longer used the real banana leaf, the used the plastic ones, which defeat the purpose of having banana leaf rice. I sat down and I tried it. The three vegetables condiments were quite bland, they were not salty, good for health purpose maybe. They were cooked with some spices though.
