J.L Gourmet Cafe is located at prangin mall. It is at corner side of the shopping mall. The waitress are very friendly. The interior design is nice and comfortable. The strategic location made the customers feel nice and have 'homey' feeling. I like the mushroom soup very much. It tasted nice and yummy. The taste is hard to describe until you taste it yourself. It is highly recommended. The set meal is about RM15.90. The blackpepper chicken is nice, comes with drinks and ice cream. The mint ice cream is cool too. A delicious western food restaurant found in town at Penang. You might see their shop is not well-designed and well-located. But the taste of food is really awesome. Especially the mushroom soup, I love it so much. The pasta are very nice too, nice sauce indeed. All the dishes are in big portion, so don't worry that you won't get full with a plate of pasta or other dishes. continue reading

I find this outlet homey and warmy, and it goes by the name “J.L. Gourmet! ^^ Just a sharing of info, the owner of this cozy café belongs to the same owner of the other two Mizi Bistros, which are located at other are in Georgetown, but fret not, they are not that far, hehe.. I’ve been patronizing these outlet eversince I’ve come to know of its existence from my auntie, who used to be their loyal customers and now friends Even after so many visits, I still enjoy each outlet very very much! For its hospitality, conducive ambience and nice food, of course! ^^So here we have Seafood Cannellonni. Just by its name already sufficient to get me drooling It’s really cheesily creamy with loads of my favourite milky cheese! Haha… Seafood and poultry were fresh and tangy. Plus, it’s at affordable price!Next we have this JL Signature mushroom soup. I find it very special and different from the others out there. The unique part is that you can actually eat the mushroom bites with its intense aroma as it is freshly home-cooked. That makes all the difference I can practically take two bowls In case you need something to clear your throat, you may opt for their cooling Peach Juice. ^^If you’re still craving for some decent crispy dish, you can try their Roasted Black Pepper Crusted Chicken. The chicken is fried to perfection, doused with adequate black pepper sauce which makes it so fragrant! It also come with side dishes like crunchy green peas, poached potato and carrots, which are indeed very healthy! ^^Besides the main dishes, we also fancy the other special menu, Trawler's pie. It reminds me of those American Chicken Mushroom Pie….hehe…. A hot and delish creamy soup, topped with flaky pastry. J.L Gourmet which is located in Perangin Mall is well known and famous for its western food especially the mushroom soup. This restaurant which is located in the town having two branch, one is in New World Park and another in Prangin Mall. The main branch is located in Prangin MallI love to go there for western delights as the soup is nice as well as the western dishes is delighting as well. Price wise is still in reasonable range which is abour RM 15- RM 25 for different set meals you order. The set meals will comes with a drink, the soup, the main course as well as an ice cream of your choice.Here comes my black pepper set.. the black pepper taste is superb as you can taste the heavy black pepper smell... but for me is not spicy enough. I still prefer the one in Pulau Tikus - Chef Delights for this one. Overall the taste of it is still great and delighting.The chicken is also tender in texture and it has a great smell of pepper which comes with it. continue reading
