The prices are less than friendly for the desserts but the delicate arrangement does look appealing for those with many interest in pretty looking desserts. With very fine and tiny pieces of items in their menu, I thought the prices were rather expensive. The matcha cheese cake serves in a very tiny scoop of ice cream and very few tiny pieces of cheesecake which tastes really ordinary and nothing very Hokkaido-ish if you ask me. And selling at rm 12.80, this hokkaido ice cream is done in less than 5 minutes even for a slow eater like me continue reading

Not one to turn down dessert, so when wifey suggested that we have some ice-cream after our sushi meal, I immediately agreed. On top of that, we got a RM1 voucher from Sushi Zanmai to patron the Hokkaido Ice Cream shop which is just within ten steps from Sushi Zanmai. The price for two scoops with a waffle bowl is priced at RM9.35, so with the RM1 voucher, we only paid RM8.35. Yaay! We went to the bar to choose our flavours. Wifey likes the Hokkaido melon while I opted for the peach sorbet. We took our bowl of treasure and sat at spaces provided to slowly savour the delightful dessert. Eating the melon ice-cream reminds me of having icy sweet melon pieces, except that it melts in the mouth. It was very fragrant, full of melon-y flavour. The peach ice-cream is slightly sour by comparison, but it definitely cleansed the palate very well. Both ic-creams were light, as we didn't really want to have too milky or creamy type of flavours right after a huge meal. The waffle bowl was obviously edible, though it was nothing to shout about. It was not too tooth-breakingly hard as I thought it would be. Slightly soft actually, like it has been made very much earlier. Wifey said that it was very nice though. There were about 6 small tables there, with lots of comfy sofa-like seats. A good place to hang around and do some people-watching as well. From our vantage point, we can see the floor below us, people enjoying Tong Pak Fu. Each table had a menu on it. So, while we were enjoying the ice-creams, I curiously browsed through and to my surprise, there were many more choices of parfait that were offered. I didn't know that they offer more than just "naked" ice-creams. I must go there again to sample those parfaits as they look superbly tempting. continue reading

Hokkaido Melon ice cream (right). After having our dinner, we still have some spare time before the movie, so we walked to Hokkaido Ice Cream there to have our dessert. I heard Hokkaido melon is very tasty, so I chose the ice cream flavour - Hokkaido melon. It was sweet and very aromatic with the smell of melon. I like the taste very much as it was not overly sweet or creamy. continue reading

Hokkaido Ice Cream outlet is situated on the first floor of Paradigm Mall, right in the middle with plenty of seats for customers. I have passed this shop many times, but hardly any customers. The other day I saw a flavour which was quite interesting. Melon it's called, and it is of a beautiful shade of orange. Decided to sample a small scoop, and it was delicious. It was almost like having very sweet, icy rockmelon melting in your mouth. It was so good that I decided to have a second helping, this time in a huge cone. continue reading

After having the bun in Pappa Roti, as i walking through the mall i come across this kiosk that sell ice cream, the name of the kiosk "Hokkaido ice cream" suggest that it is the same company as Sushi Zanmai and i was right. There is a voucher of this kioks displayed at the cashier of Sushi Zanmai (RM1 off for ice cream) So i took one of them and i use it on this store. I tried on their flavor, but the attendant service is not warmth and welcoming, as if she is asking me to leave, i guess she just had a very bad day. The ice cream is full of flavor, very rich in its black sesame smell in the mouth. However one scoop of this cost RM6, it is a little expensive for me, not so worth it. continue reading
