Lei Cha (擂茶) or Thunder Tea Rice is a signature Hakka dish which consists of a variety of finely chopped vegetables ranging from leek, long beans, kale, string beans, cabbage, dried radish and aduki beans laid over a bed of rice with a choice of brown or white rice. Usually roasted peanuts will be used as a topping to finish it off.The soup was fragrant in flavour and aroma as it was boiled using pounded teas, nuts and herbs. This meal was definitely healthy and wholesome.

Basically, Ho Poh Rui Cha 河婆擂茶 is served with a bowl of white rice, then topped with various healthy ingredients.
The ingredients are chopped celery, spinach, coriander, basil leaves, mint leaves, long beans, pickled radish, roasted groundnuts and few others.
Vegetarian and non-vegetarian Ho Poh Rui Cha are available here. The non-vegetarian will have an additional portion of small dried shrimps.
There are two recommended ways to taste it, 1) pour the Rui Cha hot soup, mix well and consume together with rice and its ingredients;
2) consume the mixed well ingredients with the Rui Cha soup spoon by spoon.

Overall, the Ho Poh Rui Cha was nutritiously tasteful; crunchy and chewy ingredients; flavorful and aromatic Rui Cha soup.
This Ho Poh Rui Cha helps to nourishes our body and in terms of health benefits, it detoxify intestines, relief indigestion and increases our immune system.

The mouth-watering Hakka Ginger Duck 姜鸭 is one of the signature dish of Restoran Ho Poh. It is also the all time best seller and recommended 'must try' dish. The Ginger Duck was deliciously braised to perfection. The succulent duck meat was flavorsome and pleases the palate. The ginger duck gravy was most tasteful with rich ginger aroma. The ingredients are duck meat, sliced young ginger, garlic, preserved soya bean paste and other spices.Restoran Ho Poh has a concept design of village's traditi

Restoran Ho Poh has a concept design of village's traditional wooden houses with old-fashioned marble tables and rattan chairs.
The environment gives a comfortable and homey feel.

San Bao Fruit Juice 三宝果汁 was strongly recommended by the boss of Restoran Ho Poh. It cost only RM4.90 per glass. The boss has explained to me why is it called 'San Bao' or 'Three Precious' fruit juice. It is because the juice was blended with three type of fruit/vegetables - green apple, celery and bitter gourd. The San Bao Fruit Juice was cooling and refreshing with a slight bitter taste which is acceptable for me. As stated in their menu, this juice has got cooling body effect, strong anti-can

The San Bao Fruit Juice was cooling and refreshing with a slight bitter taste which is acceptable for me.
As stated in their menu, this juice has got cooling body effect, strong anti-cancer properties, also helps in preventing high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.

Ho Boh Lui Cha @ RM6.00

I tried their signature Lui Cha after being convinced by my friend although I am not a fan of lui cha. They claim that their food contains no added MSG. And this bowl of rice turns out to be lightly salty, and very aromatic. They use all the natural ingredients to make it so flavourful especially for the light broth of soup. It would be better if it is served hot.
