After a long gruelling 3 hours of hiking, canopy-walk and also jungle-trekking at the Forest Reserve Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), my cell members and other friends were so hungry we wish the table at the restaurant would be laden with food the moment we reach! Good food is a priority when it comes to weekends. The crispy fried marmite chicken was so delicious that every piece including the garnishing was grabbed immediately! The marmite has been absorbed into every morsel of the meat so every bite was the best of tongue desired. The hard crabs were a delight and the best I could ever remember crabs to be. The sweet and sour gravy was thick and eggy and not oily. It tasted incredibly rich when dipped with mini mantous. For a person who is not usually in favour of kam heong, I definitely loved the kam heong crab where the kam heong has permeated every single crab and the wonderful smell emitted does wonders to the senses. No wonder six crabs cost a whopping RM 248, which my friends said was still the standard price! The steamed tofu with special green garnishing and gravy was so tasty the plated was cleared up within minutes. The Loh Teo Chew style duck was tasty, and even more so when dipped with the Chicken Rice Style chilli sauce. The Claypot Seafood Curry was very tasty and would be great if eaten with bihun. There were prawns, octopus, fish, cabbage and also tau kua inside. The Onni Teo Chew traditional dessert was a blend of pumpkin and also yam paste. My friends finished every drop of it and even cleaned the plate with his spoon! There was a beautiful arrangement of gingko nuts on top. continue reading
