Signature Dishes
Haven has replaced Earth Food at Ampang, but health-conscious customers shouldn't worry: this cafe's recipes remain reliant on free-range eggs, chemical-free fish & organic veggies. We set our alarm for an early start to the weekend, reaching Haven safely at 9:30 a.m. for a sunshiny reward: fluffy, flavorsome French toast with rain forest honey & organic jam. Breakfast is offered all day long, so sleepyheads can stroll in later and still have a hearty set of scrambled eggs, chicken chipolata sausages & portobello mushrooms. Creamy and dreamy: honey yogurt parfait with fresh-cut fruits & organic muesli. Caffeine lovers will be happy to hear that RAW Coffee runs a kiosk here, serving a marvelous macchiato with organic bon soy & a lovely latte (OK, the latte looks a little weird because we left it on the table for too long).Also available: Little Green Planet groceries, Bodybar beauty products, Organique Therapies spa treatments & Tiny Tapir baby products. Organic wine will be sold soon (wheeee!).

I've always heard people saying "Don't go to a place during peak seasons. And after my experience at Have, I personally subscribe to that saying too.our 3 course meal was expensive (RM50) but poor. Mushroom soup was watered down, worst than cambell soup Measly looking scrawny pieces of lamb chop. Worst meal ever. Fish and chips. Ok, but but not worth the price paid. (This is another main course).Don't fall for their "premium ice cream". Its just a small 50cents worth of mat kool cup ice cream. Most expensive meal and tasteless of my life :S

Despite of staying miles away from Ampang, I purposely visit the place to enjoy the night scenery there. It's another quiet restaurant up the hill during weekdays, and very crowded during weekends. Shawarma Chicken @ RM 19.90It looks very much like a chicken burrito with chicken cutlets, tomato cubes, and lettuce wrapped with tortilla skin. The taste of the BBQ chicken is good, very juicy flesh with slight saltiness. However, it is quite dry and the skin is just too thick to be chewed!Grilled Chicken Special @ RM 25.90Served with pasta, corn, sausage and potato salad. The chicken is quite tender but the noodle is too dry and tasteless. The sausage is seasoned with black pepper, but the sauce itself is already of black pepper, so it is too strong in pepper taste for my liking.
