It was so shame to admit that, I am not an early person, but for good food, I will be. Waking up at 7a.m. and have your own breakfast with lovely family are BLISS.Coming from a small town in Johor - Batu Pahat, other than telling people the history of “Batu” and “Pahat”, what I will introduce is FOOD. This little town has a lot of delicious food, which is too bad if I don’t introduce any of them. What kicks the start of the chapter in Batu Pahat is bread. If you are a Batu Pahat-rian or you have friend from this wonderful food paradise, no one will not know about this bread.Han Kee is a business combination of bakery and coffee shop. The significant bread in this coffee shop is the egg and otak-otak sandwich. The soft bread with the fresh and juicy otak-otak, egg and chili sauce make you want to come back just for it! The bread will serve in a prefect temperature; successfully keep the taste nothing but prefect! I realize that it is really hard to find otak-otak in KL, which makes me miss this bread crazily. Other than selling their famous bread, a small pack of Nasi Lemak and Malay style Mee Hun is selling as well. Also, the best partner of bread – half boiled egg is also available. If there is any chance for you to visit to this small beautiful town, you may consider trying this as your breakfast. A good start of the day! Tee-hee ****** Address: 48, Jalan Jelawat, Taman Banang, 83000 Batu Pahat, Johor.

Every time we come to Batu Pahat, we always make it a point to have breakfast here. I would say this is the BEST and CHEAPEST place for breakfast. This place serve half-boiled eggs, traditional toast, coffee and also many choices of bread, cakes and jellies. We ordered 2 half-boiled eggs each. I am known for being the fussiest person when it comes to half-boiled eggs but the when I broke the eggs, they were watery and even the yoke could be broken, just the way I like it! Of course, 1 most important item is the Otak-otak and ham wrapped in omelette sandwich toasted with a lot of marjerin. This is indeed very special and unavailable elsewhere. I like dipping this into the eggs. The black coffee at small towns like this is always very fragrant and aromatic. I am one person who dislikes Nescafe but always go for traditional coffee and this, is does wonders for the soul. Somehow, Johor is very well-known for traditional coffee. My colleague likes the nasi lemak which they finished in minutes! I like the Ang Ku (Tortoise-shaped) jelly with corn filling. Very unique filling and tasty to end up as dessert. The price is very cheap here as the entire meal for 3 came up to less than RM 20! Even the Curry Bun was only RM 1, can you believe it?
