The stew is decently savory with some fragrance from their spices and the slimy texture is due to the added okra. It still makes a good dish and is suitable for our vegan folks too.

Mango JuiceAt Hadramawt restaurant, they do offer an array of good beverage to complement your meal. Besides their very own traditional drink, they do offer fusion like the Mango Juice to help spice up your dining experience should you prefer something more familiar. Not too bad as the fruit juice is made just nice and not too sweet. It has the refreshing mango taste that helps to clear your throat especially after some chargrilled meaty feast.

It has the sweet and candy-like fragrance, that the aroma is swinging between the taste of cinnamon and vanilla beans. When the yogurt is scooped up, it is much more cohesive than the usual watery yogurt. Anyway, quite a nice try.

BaklawaYour Arabic epicurean wouldn’t be complete without this signature dessert, Baklawa. It is known to be very sweet but crispy on the outside. Wrapped with phyllo-like pastry skin that are very thin and thus crispy, it is quite an alluring fare albeit a tad sinful. The exterior skin has been caramelized and then wrapping the filling that consists of varieties of nuts like crunched pistachios, almonds and many more. Definitely gonna be real candylicious, so do go moderate with it

Greek SaladI actually never expect to find this appetizer over here at Arabic Restaurant, but it is pretty good! Mixed at the large white plate is a combination of many healthy green cubes. You would find diced tomatoes, cucumbers, slices of olives and even cubes of white cheese! That sounds so great to any cheese aficionado dining at this Arabic restaurant. I am indeed lucky for the manager is willing to show me this place or else, it would be left unnoticed behind the wooden sliding door.

Well, there is buffet dinner offered to patrons in conjunction with the Ramadhan month. You can then choose to have your dinner at ground floor or even upstairs. I personally prefer the top one for a better scenic view

The buffet spread are nicely arranged at one corner against a mural-like wall. There are some cultural paintings on it too.

Hadramawt Restaurant, located in Chulan Square in the vicinity of Jalan Raja Chulan and Pavilion KL, is this rather exquisite restaurant serving Yemeni and Arabic food. Upon entering Hadramawt Restaurant, I was relieved that there weren't any strong incense smell, nor any strong odour of any sort. In fact the restaurant had a rather pleasant smell, with classy furniture and ambience. We even had some greenery on the 2nd floor of the restaurant where patrons could dine comfortably while looking out on the streets below.

Hadramawt Restaurant prides itself for serving authentic Yemeni culinary style cuisines where one could indulge in the vast varieties of Yemeni dishes. We had a restaurant set in a modern setting infused with traditional Arabic ambience, which kind of made me think of "Aladdin" for a fleeting moment. It wasn't long before our food was prepared and served from the really friendly waiters there. Check below on what we had that night.

The Arabic salad and mixed vegetable soup wasn't really very unique, and was just an opener for the main dishes to come next. Usually I'll skip the appetizers, but since it was served I tried these two appetizers, and they weren't too bad.

"Kabsa is a family of rice dishes that are served mostly in Saudi Arabia — where it is commonly regarded as a national dish — and the other Arab states of the Persian Gulf. Kabsa, though, is believed to be indigenous to Yemen. These dishes are mainly made from a mixture of spices, rice (usually long-grain basmati), meat and vegetables. There are many kinds of kabsa and each kind has a uniqueness about it. "

The Lamb and Chicken Kabsa are Hadramawt Restaurant's signature dishes, and I would say they were rather delicious. The lamb was cooked just right, soft and without the strong lamb taste which normally comes off too strong for my tastebuds. The rice itself was really fragrant from all the spices being added into the dish.

After the hearty main course dishes of Kabsas, grilled chicken and kebabs, we ended with some desserts brought out by the waiters.

Overall it's a rather filling meal, no complains about the taste as each of the dishes were meticulously spiced and prepared the traditional Yemeni way. Unique and tasty, that should best describe my dining experience at Hadramawt Restaurant. Coupled with the fact that the ambience is really nice, I would think this place is suited for everyone, whether you're a couple looking for a private dining spot, or a family looking for a hearty meal.
