Italians are known throughout the world for pizza, pasta, and tomato sauce, and pizza is one of the most popular Italian meals that almost everyone loves. Let me share some history in honour to this special pizza ...

Pizza Margherita was invented in 1889 to honour the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy. The baker or pizza maker from Naples, Raffaele Esposito created the "Pizza Margherita," a pizza garnished with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil to represent the colours of the Italian flag - red (tomato), green (basil), and white (mozzarella).
Supposedly, this kind of pizza was then named after the Queen as Pizza Margherita. The first known pizza shop was the Port 'Alba in Naples, which opened in 1830 and is still open today.

Topped with home made tomato sauce, Italian cheese mozzarella and fresh basil, the pizza sure hit the right spots. The flavours were rich and they were generous with the cheese. Loves the crust, it was baked to perfection and not too thick nor too 'crisp' thin. This 10" pizza is priced at only RM 9, real value for money too!

I really enjoyed dining @Gusto Giusto as their pasta and pizza are some of the best cooked Italian food I‘ve ever had. Other Italian pizzas that you can try out include Romeo & Juliet (GG's Special), Marinara, Siciliana, Diavola, Carnivora, Pescatora, Toono e Cipolla, just to name a few.

The food they serve is really good quality. As the saying goes like this "The best recipe comes from our heart" is no lie.

Spaghetti Frutti di Mare simply means "Fruits of the Sea, spaghetti" in Italian. This simple pasta includes fresh muscles and prawns. The sauce used for this spaghetti was not only light, but flavourful as well. A pinch of parmesan cheese was used to top the pasta of, giving it a little richness. Overall, I really liked simply because I could taste the essence of the sea in the pasta itself.

Besides the chicken bolognese, there was also the beef bolognese. I personally prefer the beef bolognese spaghetti more than the chicken bolognese. This is because the beef has a "meatier" juice to it and also a stronger flavour. The chicken was a little mild for me. Overall, it taste pretty similar to the chicken bolognese, only with some additional tweaks here and there.

Chicken Bolognese Spaghetti, an Italian classic. One would expect any Italian restaurant to master the bolognese pasta first. In fact, this particular chicken bolognese spaghetti was really good. Not to mention it was only RM9 for a large plate that could surely make 2 person full. The bolognese sauce was packed with tomato and chicken. It wasn't diluted like many other cheap Italian restaurants. Furthermore, it was also well seasoned. Conclusion, cheap, good, worth it!

Also known as Ahrachino/ ahrachina in Sicily City, Italy. This unique way of using glutinous rice to form a shape of a ball and stuffing mozzarella cheese in the middle fried with parmesan cheese as the crust was pretty good. The crust is crispy and cheesy whilst the rice is warm and moist. However, I do wish that they'd provide more bolognese sauce as I do prefer it with some added tomato. Overall, was a nice experience, but not my favourite.

There were 2 variants to the Antipasto appetizer. In Italy, this was considered a light appetizer for them. The first variant of the Antipasto has peas, corn, olives, mozzarella cheese, sundried tomatoes and a slice of Buffalo cheese. The second only has sundried tomatoes, olives and buffalo cheese. A pretty decent yet flavourful appetizer. I personally prefer the first variant more.

The moist, aromatic and flavourful pasta transports one back to the pleasant simplicity of a Italian cooking leaving behind a calming after taste. It was easy, delicious, comfort food that have maintained its quality and standard and for that, it gets a thumbs up from me!

The spaghetti was really delicious, combined with the generous amount of meat sauce that made this another comfort food candidate indeed. Price pretty decent, won’t burn a hole in your pocket as it costs only RM 8 per serving which I believe you can't find anywhere else in KL/PJ.

It is a great challenge to cook this dish. How the chicken breast is prepared and the cheesy filling can make or break this dish.I find that the chef, have over fried the chicken rolls and due to this, the chicken meat was quite tough. Although some efforts were used to present the potatoes in a rounded form, to me it is a little too hard. It would have been great, if the potatoes are serves as smashed potatoes with some brown sauce, it will be a great combination. Overall this dish is just a little too dry. The saving grace was the salad that came along the dish.

Next is the Spaghetti Frutti Di Mar – which means Fruit from the sea – In Italy they do not call it seafood but fruit from the sea. The ingredient used was very fresh. You could taste the crisp prawn and the springy squid mix blended with rich cheesy sauce makes it extremely tantalizing.

The final dish was Spaghetti Tarufona (truffle sauce). This dish looks very simple. There is no meat and you could only see some chopped garlic in the dish. Before the waiter laid down this dish, we could smell the fragrant aroma of the truffle sauce. I have never eaten spaghetti with this sauce.

Truffle oil used to cook this dish.

The first bite of the spaghetti, I was totally mesmerised by the flavour and the smell of it. I was indeed extremely surprised on how a simple dish with so minimum ingredient can taste so wonderful. You definitely want to go for a second helping or a third helping on this dish. If any dish this is the one that made my day.

Margherita – tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil

The most important criteria of a perfert baked pizza have got to be the right timing, as this will decide the fate of the browning of the cheese. Too much it will burn the cheese. the right timing and heat level used will determine the partially burned cheese has a particular distinct flavor of its own.

Siciliana – tomato sauce, mozzarella, olives, anchovies

Everything, from the quality ingredients to the super-swift firing in the oven, giving you an experience as close as possible to that you’d enjoy at a Trattoria table in Sicily.

Gusto Giusto Special – tomato, mushroom, anchovies, capsicium, beef

The secret is consistency; the base will be beautifully chewy and the topping charred to loveliness, whether you keep it simple with a Margherita (tomato sauce with mozzarella) or dress things up with, say olives, anchovies (Siciliana) or mushroom, capsicum and beef (Gusto Giusto Special).

The restaurant brings about a cosy and comfortable setting with it's simple interior design, making it the perfect place for families, special events or just a good old fashioned meal. At GG’s you sit back and enjoy the traditional Italian decor, of red and white chequered tablecloths. The restaurant serves authentic Italian food such as spaghetti, pasta, antipasto, grilled dishes and more for your food feast which you won't want to miss out on. Bring your family or friends along for an amazing Italian experience. And of course, buon appetito!

Start of my healthy meal with a rich appetizer called the Antipasto. Antipasto means "before the meal" and is the traditional first course of a formal Italian meal. Traditional antipasto includes cured meats, olives, pepperoncini, mushrooms, anchovies, artichoke hearts, various cheeses, pickled meats and vegetables.

This is a mixed platter of olives, mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatoes, green peas and corns. The whole combination was really tasty and agreed with my taste buds. I was never a fan of green peas, but somehow I didn't mind eating them in this dish. Well, remember to kick off a good meal with the naturally delicious Antipasto!

The décor is a simple and family like. The first dish was the appetizer.

Antipasto – Italian appetizer. The cheese that was used here was of a subtle taste and I really enjoyed this Italian appetizer. We were served 2 variants of this antipasto.

The olives was also very crunchy and did not have that funny taste like keeping too long. I found out later that the olives that the chef used is soaked with water compared to some which is soaked in oil.

The second one, consists of fried tomatoes, olive and multiple pieces of buffalo cheese. If you are that love cheese then this antipasto will make your day. The cheese does not have the pungent smell and taste.
