We were rushing so much in order to watch the first screening of Hercules at Paradigm Mall. My friend decided to eat ramen here. I do not usually like ramen as I thought it was like the Korean ramen which looks like Maggi mee. Coincidentally, I have not dined at this cafe before so I agreed to try the food here. The place was crowded even on a weekday and we had to wait very long, almost 20 minutes to be served. My friend ordered the 5 Star Kakuni (RM 22.90 for small size) which was quite delicious with Shoyu Tonkatsu soup. This soup meant that it is a bit salty that is made of pork soup blended with soy sauce. There were a few thin slices of the tastiest char siew in the world, watery hard-boiled egg, spring onions, bamboo shoots. The bamboo shoots were the worst as they were very smelly and I had to separate it from my ramen. Tonkatsu Ultimate (RM 17.90) has a slightly thinner base of Shoyu Tonkatsu soup but still good. The ingredients are the same that are a few thin slices of the tastiest char siew in the world, watery hard-boiled egg, spring onions, bamboo shoots.Mine is different in the sense that mine had thinly sliced Japanese fish cake. The eggs here are the best as the egg white is perfectly set while the egg yolk remains runny. There is no wasabi here so I had to taste the real flavour without this. I admit I still ate it with some chilli powder and also pink radish (I think) and also fried garlic. The ocha and oolong tea is served in a very tall mug at RM 2 per cup. We joked that the big portion is to prevent us from thirst or complaining. So far this is the best ramen ever where the ramen is so smooth and silky. The soup is also very flavoursome and not salty like the rest that I have tried elsewhere. The price is worth the taste too and quite reasonable.  continue reading

Sometimes, when you go to a ramen place, all you want is some rice. Haha. No, actually I wasn't very hungry but just needed to have my lunch get and it over with quickly. So I redeemed my free cha shu don (char siew rice) with my stamp card.It was actually quite nice. Rice was starchy, and the char siew was sticky, sweet, and aromatic. Very porky. Quite fatty too, but I still enjoyed this simple meal a lot continue reading

Goku Raku Ramen introduces "Horikiri Style" ramen, which discovered by noted Ramen connoisseur, Mr. Teruhisa Shimizu. Their broths are simmered to perfection for 48 hours to bring out its exquisite taste and our ramen are made fresh daily with their ramen-making machine. The environment here is nice and comfortable. I have ordered Utsunomiya Gyoza, which is basically fried dumpling below a thin pancake. Surprisingly this dish is delicious. Beside this, lady will get one dessert for free when you dine in at every Tuesday. continue reading
