It has been quite awhile since my last margarita. My bf promised to buy me dinner and margarita to celebrate my victory of passing CFA Level II and here was my margarita for the night. The use of blue salt lured my curiosity so I tried a sip with the blue salt on my lips. The combination was lovely. The margarita was strong but balanced so well that I wouldn't shiver or hold back on my second sip. I must say the blue salt helped on that too. This was perhaps the best margarita I have ever tried

My ideal brownies should be moistened and soft. This one was rather unique I would say. Is it moistened? It was in between moistened and dry. Is it soft, it was alright. Another thing I noticed about it was the crumbly texture. The layer on top of the brownies was not cream but closer to pudding but denser. I could taste the crumbly texture on the top layer, which was quite unusual. It was sweeter compared to the brownies but together they were decent. I wouldn't say it was awesome but decent.

You can eat with mayonnaise, chilli sauce or just like that. As for the Tofu Guacamole Tacos, the side ingredients are almost same with the Baja-Styled Fish. The only different is the main ingredient is deep fried tofu. The tofu however, was a tad too plain for my liking.

Frontera Beef Tacos – RM12Frontera Beef Tacos was my favourite tacos. The beef was done nicely without being overcooked and had the medium well texture to it which went well with my palette. The meat is tender and not oily. To make thing clear, Frontera Beef is made from minced Beef, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Tacos Sauce. It is served with lot of Cheddar cheese. You can choose the soft or hard salsa to wrap the beef. It is delicious to eat with the tacos special sauce.

Diablo Prawn Tacos – RM14Diable Prawn Tacos is another signature dish at Frontera for prawn lovers. Besides the fresh prawn, the salsa will be garnish with some lettuce, jicama, cilantro and tomato dices for flavour. The prawn is cooked with chef secret herbs to maintain the sweetness of the prawn flesh. The prawn must not be over cooked and it must be served as soon as it boils. It is great on soft tacos or hard tacos and awesome to have while it is hot.

Garden Salad – RM6On top of the various Tacos available on Tacos Tuesday, Frontera serves some nice side dishes as well. Personally I've been spoilt with Caesar salads from other establishments, and it was tough to satisfy my salad cravings recently. The Garden Salad really tastes like the name itself, full with green stuff. Garden salad is fresh green vegetables, tomato slices and some carrot with mayonnaise on top. Anyway, it is a truly healthy green dish for our meal.

Frontera Fries – RM6Frontera do serves some nice side dishes like fries. I really appreciate the fries with is thick and crispy skin. It is actually made from fresh cut potatoes. Spicy chilli powder is added to flavour the fries. The fries are nice to eat with Frontera Tacos. You will definitely can not stop your hand from tucking down this fries especially if it is served hot. As a Mexican restaurant, I can proudly say that well done on the Frontera Fries.

Mexican Rice – RM6Mexican Rice is really tempting even just from the rice colour. Tomato paste is being used as one of the rice base. I think the tomato and onion used in the cooking really help to improve both the color and flavour of the rice. Once season with some salt for the taste, it is served immediately. The rice is delicious and best eat while still warm. The rice is served together with some tomato dices and tacos sauce.

In order to keep up with big Tex-Mex places like Chili's, Frontera also serves free flow of nachos. I prefer Frontera's nachos - tastes light and very rich in corn flavour - I can even feel the fibres. The salsa is very much rich with tomatoes and is the right amount of sour; though in terms of thickness, I prefer Chili's.If I had to pick which place to go, I'd stick with Frontera. Friendly manager, more relaxed crowd, less queue, closer to home, and option for a variety of great burgers.Pro tip

Pro tip: nachos go great with beer, but they also ruin all plans to have burgers for dinner (because it's so filling).

Chipotle and Mushroom Soup
The soup is mildly spicy, but the overall tastes is indescribable. The closest taste for this soup will be Maggi noodles's soup. It is authentic but I guess I need some time to appreciate the goodness of Mexican food.

The tortilla chips started off mild, with random surprises of saltiness. It was crispy and relatively healthy, as it was made of corn starch. The red salsa was very good, as it balanced out the flavour of tortilla chips, making it less intrusive to the taste bud. It tasted very tomato-ish, with natural sourish flavour, which I found it very appetizing. As it was bottomless, we kept refilling the basket but towards the end, the tortilla chips just got saltier and saltier. We were so full by then that we did not have any mains
Good to have it with beer.

The agua fresca was very refreshing and best of all, it was free
However, this version was milder, less sourish than I like it to be.

Here was one of the plates of tacos we had. Of all the tacos I tried, what I loved was the Baja-styled fish, Diablo Prawn, and Yutacan Prawn. Reason being the first had Chipotle, while the two had cilantro. It was the sourish taste and pungent smell that attracted me most.

Those pretty dry and less gravy tacos are best go with crispy skin, while those with alot of gravy like the three I liked most are best go with soft skin. The prawns were very bouncy and fresh, so was the fish.

And oh, the free flow of tacos did come with free flow of chili soup too! I loved it very much due to its spiciness but most importantly served hot!

A bite of tacos, a sip of chili soup, perfecto!

it did not look pretty. I was anticipating something similar to pumpkin soup in terms of sweetness and texture. Pretty much I was right about the sweetness, but the texture was watery, taste nuttier. Few drizzles of sage enhanced the butternut flavor. I love this soup very much!

Finally the main! This was the Frontera's mesquite smoked turkey.

The way it was served was very unusual. Instead of cranberry sauce alone, Frontera made
cranberry chipotle relish, with jalapeno corn bread dressing, candied sweet potatoes, broccoli florets topped with chili con quesco.

The sweet potatoes was so soft that it melted in my mouth. Turkey itself was very unusual, somewhat similar to chicken in terms of texture. Impressive I must say, and the way it was cooked, mesquite smoke enhanced the third dimension of this dish.

The overall combination was interesting and I strongly recommend you must try this!

Last but not least, the signature key lime pie.

The name says it all. It was very sourish ( I like it that way
) and the soft layer was very smooth and dense. When you eat it, you should pair every scoop with the thin layer of crunchy base. The soft layer would be better if it was denser though.

It was the most unusual Christmas dinner I have ever had, thanks to Frontera.
