It has been a long time since I came here as the last time I wanted to visit, it was under renovation. I came here for a late lunch today. The rice with braised egg and tofu was amazing today as they gave a lot of gravy! The gravy made it super tasty
However, the chicken chop was disappointment because I felt that it was cold, it doesnt taste and feel like it was just fried because the skin wasn't crispy anymore

The oyster noodle on the other hand was warm, and the amount of oysters given was reasonable. The oyster noodle here tasted so much better as compared to the one in Shilin.

I came here for a company rally with my two colleagues. I ordered the Lobak Rice set (RM 10.50) which was supposedly famous in this place. The sauce on the rice is very light and not strong and thick enough for me. Since I did not like pork especially the oily ones, I did not really like it that they placed pork on top of my rice, not that I could help it. My friend ordered my favourite Taiwanese Mee Sua ala-carte because she was on a diet. The mee sua is quite delicious but the oysters were not fresh and big enough.

My other colleague ordered the Crispy Chicken Set which came with braised tofu and also egg. The fried chicken is not bad, very super crispy.

The Taiwanese food here is not bad and even quite reasonably priced.

the rice comes in a big portion so i was very satisfied with it. the chinese sausages on the other hand tasted quite bland though. felt like i was chewing plain packed sausages..

Their signature dish is crispy chicken and is really in big portion and is suitable for big eater. For sour food lover, do try the Sour & Spicy Soup and Braised Sauce Rice set. Overall, I think the set lunch is really worth the money.

Taiwanese cuisine seems to be something rather uncommon in Malaysia. Formosa, though, is so far the only one that I would highly recommend to give it a good try apart from Arisan at Taylor's University. Despite being operated by a group of foreigners, the food and services never fail to satisfy me during every visit.

On a side note, I have recently found out that Taiwan was historically known as "Ilha Formosa" by the Portuguese, which it literally means beautiful island.

On that particular night, Don and I did not choose our usual set meals, but we wanted to have more than what our tummies could handle. Formosa offers a very wide selection of choices of set meals to be picked. Some of them may come with or without a cup of drink of your choice, and some may or may not include a bowl of rice. It's totally flexible in a way!

However, unless I need some cold drink to calm myself, I wouldn't prefer to have their Grass Jelly Milk Tea. It tasted like a cup of drink filled with flavoring essence.

Each of us had a bowl of Braised Sauce Rice as usual, and added Braised Egg and Braised Taufu at RM3.00 in total. The first bite had indeed helped to make a life changing decision ever since; I will be sure to order all three of them every single time!

Don preferred their Hot Crispy Chicken while I opted for Taiwanese Salted Chicken to save hassles. Both of them came with soft, tender, and juicy chicken meat covered with crispy outer layer, but cooked in different ways. They're definitely finger licking good!

Well, not to worry. The Hot Crispy Chicken wasn't too troublesome to be eaten, in fact. YOU MUST TRY!

I love to try this item in every Taiwanese food outlet, just to see how it differ from each other. This version here is pretty good, but not as good as Share Tea which is the best in my books It is red tea mixed with creamer and bubbles were added as toppings. The tea has a rich aroma from the creamer, and a hint of bitterness. I thought the bitter flavour was interesting. The bubbles were nice and chewy but very little in portion. It was not too sweet as well, I enjoyed the drink.

This is another popular Taiwanese snack that comes in a huge size, sometimes chopped into pieces but sometimes not. It depends on the policy of the restaurant. Here in Formosa, it is nicely chopped for easy consumption. You can opt for spicy or non-spicy, for me it will definitely be spicy It was nicely fried till golden brown and not too oily. It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If you need some rice to go with it, you can order some braised rice (lu rou fan) to go with it.

It is one of my favourite Taiwanese food other than oyster mee sua and fried chicken chop. I find that the braise rice here is below average. It is essentially white rice topped with meat cooked in special braised sauce. I thought the meat portion was really little. The sauce lacked flavour hence did not give enough flavour to the rice. By eating this dish itself feels rather empty, so you might want to order fried chicken to go along with it.
