It has been a long time since I came here as the last time I wanted to visit, it was under renovation. I came here for a late lunch today. Since its was 3pm, there wasn't a queue to order and it didn't take a long time for the food to come. But when the food came, some of them isn't warm anymore. It felt like we're eating leftover food. We ordered two sets. The chicken chop set with rice and braised egg and tofu for RM 12.80 and the oyster noodles with braised egg and tofu set for RM 10.The rice with braised egg and tofu was amazing today as they gave a lot of gravy! The gravy made it super tasty   However, the chicken chop was disappointment because I felt that it was cold, it doesnt taste and feel like it was just fried because the skin wasn't crispy anymore  The oyster noodle on the other hand was warm, and the amount of oysters given was reasonable. The oyster noodle here tasted so much better as compared to the one in Shilin. continue reading

I came here for a company rally with my two colleagues. I ordered the Lobak Rice set (RM 10.50) which was supposedly famous in this place. The sauce on the rice is very light and not strong and thick enough for me. Since I did not like pork especially the oily ones, I did not really like it that they placed pork on top of my rice, not that I could help it. I liked the braised soya tofu cooked Taiwan style and also the braised hard-boiled egg. My friend ordered my favourite Taiwanese Mee Sua ala-carte because she was on a diet. The mee sua is quite delicious but the oysters were not fresh and big enough. My other colleague ordered the Crispy Chicken Set which came with braised tofu and also egg. The fried chicken is not bad, very super crispy. The Taiwanese food here is not bad and even quite reasonably priced.  continue reading

this is what i mostly order whenever i visit Formosa 台湾风味馆 at Asian Avenue.my set consisted of a bowl of rice with braised vegetables, and a platter of fried taiwanese chicken.the braised vegetables are of course my favorite ^^ they were cooked with a broth that complements well with the rice. in fact, i could eat it alone and it taste good enough already!the fried chicken pieces were fried quite inconsistently because sometimes i'd get a softer piece while another might be rock-hard. overall it was still quite nice but my bf complained that it was very salty. continue reading

Formosa is just a simply small stall in Asia Avenue of Sunway Pyramid which serves nice Taiwanese Food. They have variety of sets to order, from Set A to Set D and there are even different type of small sets in side these main sets to suite everyone appetite. Too bad i didn't take the photo of the menu. Once you have decided your set, you need to place your order and pay at the counter and they will serve you the food. They have limited of table, so normally will be crowed during lunch time. All of us have ordered 5 different set lunch. Their signature dish is crispy chicken and is really in big portion and is suitable for big eater. For sour food lover, do try the Sour & Spicy Soup and Braised Sauce Rice set. Overall, I think the set lunch is really worth the money. continue reading
