Have yourself a merry little turkey... The festive buffet at Swiss-Garden's Flavors Restaurant is a fulfilling feast, even though some customers might be driven bonkers because 'Jingle Bells' is played on an endless loop here _ every second, minute & hour. All the Yuletide essentials are accounted for, from oysters, prawns & mussels on the fresh seafood counter to turkey pot pie, lamb osso bucco, sea bass & scallops in the hot food section. Roast beef too. A fair spread at RM70++ per adult & half-price for children & senior citizens. A plateful of turkey (dark meat, please), chestnut stuffing (delicious!), giblets & cranberry sauce to help me meet my turkey requirement for 2011. Much meat & various veggies build a balanced meal to make the spirits bright. Quality-wise, it's not top-flight though _ the duck confit with orange zest might seem leathery & overcooked. Log cakes, stollen, puddings, fruit cakes _ enough desserts to make every belly as bounteous as Santa's. Service at Flavors is reasonably attentive & efficient, with used plates regularly cleared & empty glasses of water replenished. continue reading

The evening buffet spread at Swiss Garden is very satisfying for those who love local delicacies like me. Located along the busy road of Pudu, this hotel is quite famous among tourists and I find many international guests enjoying our malaysian dishes there. The curry noodle can be customized according to my preference, and I added lots of bean curd and lime leaves to enhance the fragrance of the curry. It is very aromatic and I enjoy the thick sweet curry broth. Slightly spicy while served hot, I find the flavours not overly strong but good enough to savour.Lots of malaysian kuih are served on the buffet spread. Sweet and delicious! continue reading

Nasi goreng kampung : a mild 'charred' flavored was found in the rice. .. the rice were fluffy and not overload with oil, but I can hardly find any ingredient in the rice. ;(It wasn't spicy, just plain and salty.SPaghetti carbonara was okay, just that it's slightly cold when I'm eating it... The cheese falvor wasn't that strong, but it's milky and creamy enough for me to finish my entire plate. The fish was normal, soft and not pleasant to the palate, but the salsa sauce totally win my heart. The salsa sauce was given to eat together with the pan fried fish. It taste sweet, sour , spicy all in one! the lime juice was the soul of the entire salsa... *thumbs up* continue reading

So a friend and I went to Swiss Garden Flavor's Restaurant for buffet lunch (they called it Hi-Tea to celebrate our January birthdays And may we say, we weren't dissapointed. The interior upon arrival. Lighting was nice, deco was classy, awesome ambiance. Bustling with people. Started by taking appetizers and waffles with honey, my all time favourite. Appetizer section is well stocked. the beef salad was gooooood X) The appetizer corner, where the choices were abundant, with fresh leaves, salads etc left me impressed. There was even a cheese counter with a few variants of cheese for our hi-tea! They had a dedicated waffle corner The choices of jams and honey + maple syrup made me a happy girl Rushed at it since I'm a sucker for waffles + honey Having gone for a few hi-tea buffets now, I can say this is one of the better ones. (see the osyters! )there were fresh oysters and prawns. I was there for close to 2 hrs and they had refilled at least twice (although people took it just as fast!)The dessert corner was honestly the most well stocked of the place, with generous varieties of puddings, cakes, fruits etc. Most were good, one should save space for some delightful desert and the end. Colourful palate of desserts! My plate of desserts. tried mixed berries, christmas cake, puddings, custard creams etc. A new experience for sure Notice that I din't talk much bout main course There were 3 counters like the above 1, serving Malay dishes, Western dishes and Chinese dishes each. Food was fair (well it is a high tea not "lunch" per say), the roast beef was AWESOME. I think the specialty here is beef la Dimsum and noodles station was also another station featured outside the restaurant, with tomyum and soup noodles, and various paos and dimsums serving outside, constantly manned by 2 chefs.Flavors. Definitely worth a visit, if you ask me. If there's a promotion, I'll def be back for more continue reading
