Japanese food here is at an extensive choice and variety and selling most of the dishes that is widely accepted by the Malaysians. The creativity with the sushi is very much infused with the fondness of the local palate. In the Japanese cuisine, fresh ingredients play such a huge roll and that could probably be the only key to determine the quality of that very dish. I really fancy their sushi and absolutely loves it when they are super fresh. I am always ordering this whenever I visit and they never fail to satisfy me everytime. continue reading

I am being informed by the waiter at Edo Ichi that this Unagi Cheese Roll is one of the specialty here. So proceed to order one set which priced at RM 28.00. The roll are made up with a combination of egg, crabsticks, cucumber and rolled with seaweed and rice, finally topped with a very tiny slice of unagi and cheese. Seriously, I feel cheated looking at the small pathetic unagi sitting on top of a big cheese roll. Due to the small size of the unagi, it fails to brings out the unagi taste together with other ingredient in this dishes. continue reading

Sooner or later, a Japanese restaurant had to surface at Solaris Dutamas. Thankfully, it's a worthwhile entry that features sterling service. Complimentary starters of meaty fish (which we couldn't identify). The sashimi selection is reasonably priced. We tried a set of seven varieties, with two pieces each, for 95 ringgit. Freshly flown in the previous day, these tasted flawless. Salmon, crab stick, cheese & veggie maki. Fans of sushi rolls might appreciate this place; more than half a dozen varieties are available. Most sound fairly appealing. Eel, cheese & veggie maki. The unagi was warm and juicy, but there seemed to be something missing here. Maybe a little avocado might have helped. continue reading
