for some funny reason my best friend was really desperate for a girl's night out. She wanted to spend time together having a good meal, talk and also some drinks. Since we both live rather nearby, we decided to go to KLCC and at first wanted to dine at Svago. Unfortunately the place was fully booked for a function so we had to dine somewhere else instead and opted for Chinoz. Our previous experience there had been a not so pleasant one, however we were willing to give it another chance. We do like the ambience there, especially when it isn't crowded nor filled with big families. This gave us a good chance to have a nice conversation without having to yell at each other from across the table. With our drinks ordered, we looked through the menu and decided to just order food tapas style to share as none of the mains really appealed to us. Plus we prefer eating like this as it gives us a chance to try more different things. We ordered the fried calamari. This was super good as it was hot and crisp which is a clear sign that it was freshly fried - with a squeeze of lemon and dipping it into the mayo that it came with, this was satisfying. Plus the squid tasted fresh unlike the frozen kind so I give them props for this dish.We also ordered the grilled merguez sausage. The portion was slightly bigger than we imagined but then again, who would really complain about more food anyways. This tasted really good as the sausage was perfectly grilled and has a nice herby flavour. Plus it came with some kind of sauce which until today I am unsure what it is, but eating the sausage with it gave you quite a mouthful of flavour. This is a must-try.Then because we were indulging in dinner & drinks for the night, we also ordered the soft shell crab tempura. This was an absolute love because the batter was perfectly crisp, nicely flavoured and the crab was still juicy on the inside. We finished this up almost instantly, but we actually took our time to chat and nibble while we sipped on our drinks.  continue reading

Dining here during dinner time, so the restaurant was packed with people.while waiting for the dishes to served, i ordered a red velvet cake as my starter. The cake looks nice but i just can't finish it all as the portion is too big and also it is not tasting actually. too creamy and texture too bad.so after waiting for 15 minutes, my chicken pie was on table. All are about vege and mushrooms, and a lil bit chicken.Overall the tasting of chicken pie was OK to have a try. continue reading

i am guessing that this is a vegetarian pie because it has 3 different mushrooms in itit is served with a side of salad WITHOUT any dressingweird isn't itthe brown sauce is also separated from the pie so you can eat the pie with our without the brown saucethe pie is also very big and is possible to be a main coursethe most prominent mushroom in the pie would be the white and brown button mushrooms continue reading

This is a great and peaceful place to dine. With the overwhelming service from their staffs, I must say I really enjoy Chinoz smoked salmon makimono. Delightfully presented, the portion was somewhat generous too. This would be a nice place if you really like good food. Not so much for couples, as the portion is yet again generous. Small families will find this a great restaurant to spend some quality time together. Chinoz bread got me mesmerized upon first bite. I love it since then. It is beyond divine and if you ask me, I cannot wait to go back again for it.My cravings for soup often left me no choice to order one from the menu anywhere I go. Same thing, here I ordered the Chinoz mushroom soup. There is nothing great about it. Nevertheless it satisfies me as long as it fulfills my craving for that day. Also, being a seafood lover my friend and I cannot resist myself from ordering Fetucinee Marinara. The seafood was yummy, and I am pretty sure the opulent pesto was freshly made with no addition of cream. Or if there is, probably very little for it is a little too acerbic if you ask me.Although the portions are substantial, we simply cant help ourselves from wanting more from the chef. And we really cannot eat anymore at this point. So we decided to go for bites, something light. We land ourselves with Turkey ham and pineapple pizza. As you can see, we didn’t get one that is nicely baked. The crust was burnt a little. I should probably go for Marcos next time we decided to have pizzas as bites.Lastly, do not forget to pamper yourself with some of their house wines. They were reasonably priced and were great company to the meal. continue reading
