It is a good news for the muslim friends. Always wanted to try a good chinese style chicken rice? Now there is a nice chicken rice restaurant that is halal certified in town. You can see the big halal logo lighted up in front of the shop.It is famous not because of the name, it is good for the food. The chicken meat are so tender and smooth, the rice is cooked with the chicken broth with the fragrance aroma. every single bit of rice is cooked well and covered with the wonderful taste. Many people visiting the shop from time to time, many take-away business. You may have to have some patient to wait as usually one walk-in customer may just ordered for packed-away of 20 packs.I have encountered many times. bad luck me. haha...I was too busy scoping the meal and have forgotten to snap the photo, every time i visited the place.i will always order for an extra bowl of chicken broth steamed rice. The rice is taste so good, even eating on its own.you will also get a bowl of free chicken broth soup for every meal. wow! simply wonderful. continue reading

2 days ago, mum and I went to Chee Meng Chicken Rice shop at Old Klang Road for lunch. This is one of the 3 branches. The other 2 is in Kuchai Lama and Bukit Bintang. One of the plus point for Chee Meng is that this restaurant is certified Halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). Halal food is food that complies with Islamic Law or Shariah. Thus, Muslims don't have to worry when dining in here.Let me provide some History of Chee Meng Chicken Rice (taken from http://cheemeng.com.my/about.htm):Chee Meng began in 1965 with the founder, Mr. Yeok Kai Seng. Back then, it was known as "Chee Meng Kai Fun" which means popular chicken rice when it first started off as a little chicken rice stall set up along Old Klang Road. In 1988, Chee Meng Kai Fun was officially registered under 'Nasi Ayam Chee Meng' as a mark of stable business establishment throughout the years of operation. Fragrant Rice aka "Yau Fan" The rice is good to eat just like that without anything. Really good................Complimentary Peanut SoupParsley is added to make it more fragrant...The peanuts were not boiled into very soft texture; whereby the texture is just nice....Thai Style Chicken Feet (RM 7)As appetizer, we had the chicken feet. I love it but can be too spicy for people who can't take spicy food.............Steamed Chicken (RM 6.50)Mum's steamed chicken. Tried one piece.....The meat is tender and smooth.....Yummy yummy..... Roasted Chicken (RM 6.50)My portion of roasted chicken. The chicken is roasted perfectly. Also very smooth and tender....Yummy yummy.............Total damage including 2 glasses of plain water and 3 rice = RM 22 somethingLocation:Nasi Ayam Chee Meng, Old Klang Road Sub Lot A1, Batu 4 1/4, Jalan Kelang Lama, 58000 Kuala Lumpur. continue reading
