This seems to be mum's favourite every time we visited this cafe. It looks like really simple and doesn't look appealing. So I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. The soup is boiled with bitter gourd but there was just enough bitterness to make the soup quite tasty. The mee sua absorbed the soup and is a good texture maintaining its spring. The bitter gourd slices was sufficiently soft and added extra texture to the noodles. A good warming bowl of noodles with a twist.

This cafe has always been a favourite haunt of mine for family dinners on days when mum doesn't cook. One of my favourite dish is the Shanghai Style Chicken Rice which really taste very appetizing. The chicken is breaded and deep fried before being fried together with a sweet and sour sauce which coats it completely before serving. This is like the spare ribs sweet and sour style only chicken is used in this case. I like the sauce which is refreshing and really whets my appetite and the chicken is not too dry although it was deep fried before the sauce is added. The meat still tasted tender and goes well with the fragrant chicken rice and pappadum that is served. This is one order that doesn't go wrong for me.
