I wanted to try Basil Pasta House for long and finally I went there with my sister and sister in law on one Monday evening around 6.15pm. It was not very crowded and the waitress were very welcoming We ordered Caesar salad with mushroom, mushroom soup, smoked duck spaghetti with truffle oil (sister), aglio olio spaghetti with pork bacon (sister in law) and tomato risotto with pork meatball (me!). Overall everything is nice however I would like point out 3 things that I think is worth mentioning.

Overall everything is nice however I would like point out 3 things that I think is worth mentioning.

1. When I was ordering the Caesar salad, I asked the waitress can I take out the egg and replace it with mushroom (need to pay an extra 4.9 for mushroom as add on). The waitress quickly go to counter and said they can do it and they won't charge extra. This pleased me as this shown they are flexible and fair at the same time.

2. I felt hot and stuffy when I went into the restaurant. It felt like the air conditioner was not functioning.

3. THEY DO NOT SERVE WATER. They only serve bottled mineral water and this really surprised me. As a so called 'famous' and 'popular' restaurant, I think serving water is a basic thing to do.

Well, I enjoyed my food and services despite some improvements that I would very much like to see.

The wait for a table and food to be served here can be daunting, so I would recommend you to reserve ahead if you are going in a big group and to spare a tad bit more time to grab a meal here as compared to other places. My personal favorite here woud be the Lemon Salmon Fettucine. The texture of the fettucine was chewy while the salmon chunks were perfecly seasoned. The alfredo sauce accompanying it was also delicious, without being overly creamy or cloying. My personal favorite here woud be the Lemon Salmon Fettucine. The texture of the fettucine was chewy while the salmon chunks were perfecly seasoned. The alfredo sauce accompanying it was also delicious, without being overly creamy or cloying. The pasta brings about a fresh taste as the zest and juice from the lemon as used.

Aside from that, you should also give other famous pastas such as a the squid ink and carbonara based pastas.

Having said that, there is one shop particularly intrigues me the most as far as its brand name is concerned. Me, for one, really relish in dishes that comes with basil herbs, be it in the form of pizza paste, pasta sauce or just the fresh herb itself. The fragrance is simply refreshing and my mom even plants it at home to ensure it’s pesticide-free (= So yeah, the café in the picture is none other than The Basil!

Been in operations for nearly 10 months now, Basil certainly lives up to a luxe dining experience at a truly affordable price to the folks around Kuchai Lama. Why do I say that? Mainly because of its niche and unique crafted menu that largely revolved around truffles goodness that is incorporated into most of their signatures and served at a reasonable price. This comes naturally as the maestro of the kitchen, Chef Alven, who came from the exquisite culinary background of none other than French- a culture that places high emphasis on food appreciation. The interior décor is chic and elegant in its own with the warm setting of lamps and dark wooden furniture, somewhat contrary to what any passerby would expect from the humble exterior, so it’s another pleasant surprise!

All in all, this is a recommended place to visit especially for bon vivants who enjoy truffle’s unique aroma as well as enthusiastic foodies who wish to explore and have more exposure about this treasured earthnut from southwestern Europe. In my personal opinion, the addition of truffles somehow really accentuates the flavor of each ingredient and hence, enriches the taste as a whole resplendently.

A small restaurant located at the Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park specializing in Italian cuisine especially towards pasta. Every pasta dishes that they whipped up never fail to amaze my tastebuds.

For people who want to customize their pasta, they have a wide variety of pasta to choose from linguine, spaghetti, fettuccine, bucatini, elicoidali& penne rigate as well as building up their pasta by adding grilled chicken, pork bacon, button mushrooms and even seafood for a fairly affordable price.

Started off with their wild mushroom soup which had chunks of shiitake, button and oyster mushroom for my appetizer.

Had the Fettuccine and Parma Ham White truffle cream which was an absolutely delicious one. The 64 degree Celsius omega egg was an added bonus to the presentation.

Lastly, we also customized the aglio olio e pepperoncino by adding grilled chicken to it! it was simple and yummy.
You can also opt for non-spicy if you can't handle spicy food!

I decided to go Italian today. We were making a few rounds around Kuchai area looking for something special to make my day better especially since I have been eating at the canteen for a week, for lunch and dinner!

I came here because I have wanted to try Affogato (RM 9.90) for so long ever since I saw it on the menu during my first visit. The Affogato is actually a small shot of espresso type of coffee served with 2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream. Though the picture looks pretty, the taste is just so-so. We ended up spilling most of the coffee when trying to pour over the ice-cream.

I ordered the Macadaemia Latte (RM 9.90) with high expectation but was a little disappointed because there was no design on the foam. The taste is quite tasty and the smell very fragrant.

The best meal of the day is the Hand-made Orecchiette and Smoked Duck Breast (RM 18.90) which are actually ear-shaped pasta sauteed with Black Truffle Paste served with grilled smoke duck, mushroom trio and seasonal vegetables. This pasta is so tasty and the burst of flavours were superb. I kept spooning every mouthful and every bite is simply amazing.

The Saffron Risotto ala Milanese (RM 38.90) with miso glazed cod fish is one of the best risottos I have ever eaten. The risotto is very cheesy whereas the saffron has completely been absorbed into the rice, causing it to an explosion of flavours, that is very strong and does justice to the soul. The small tiny pieces of asparagus cooked together with a few bits of fine green peasnd basil sauce a lent some vegetarian flavour to the risotto.

I realized that this restaurant likes to use a lot of different spices and sauces for everything they cook, which is exactly like how I like to do my cooking.

I always come here vowing to return here again due to the extensive menu and the most delicious food at an affordable price.
We went back with 2 bottles of Iced Mocha and also Iced Peach Tea for RM 9.90 each. The tea is just normal, not very unique for such a high price.

We ordered the best Fettucine Steak (RM 18.90) with red wine infused inside. The fettucine was well done and the thinly sliced steak a little towards medium rare. The taste of the sauce cooked with small cubes of carrots and also potatoes were  amazing. The fat fettucine were perfectly integrated with the sauce.

The Fettucine Lamb Japanese Curry (RM 16.90) was so delicious. The curry was unlike the powdery version I tasted in Japanese restaurants. The fettucine was nicely and thickly and completely coated with the curry. There were also carrot and potato cubes cooked together with the sauce. The lamb is also so tender and tasty and not smelly.

The iced cubed Signature Basil (RM 7) with small bottle of soda was the best I have ever drank and the cheapest compared to places like Coffee Stain and also Coffee Societe at Publika. The basil was so fragrant and the drink totally refreshing.

The iced cubes containing Berry Strawberries (RM 7) was equally tasty. Perfecto!

The dessert is the best here and very affordable which explains the big crowd here. The Mille Feuille (RM 14.90) was five star dessert at a 2 star price, meaning affordable fine dining. These types of desserts usually costs at least RM 30-40 in other places. The mille is paper thin and coated with champagne. In between, it was sandwiched by fresh slices of strawberries and grapes. There is chocolate sauce on the plate.

The bottled iced green tea matcha (RM 9.90) is incredible. It was very thick and tasty even when I brought it to office.

The Chocolate Mousse (RM 5.90) is the best in the world, rich, sinful and with 3 small marshmallows inside. I am not a fan of mousse but this, is excusable.

Alright the food is so tasty that I even went to the open kitchen to praise the chef. Despite the open kitchen, the place is not smoky at all.

There is so much variety in the menu till I felt like ordering everything. Definitely making a comeback with my family.

The ambience is perfect and cosy. Very comfortable seating for waiting for table.

The most unique thing is that there is big range of hand soap to choose from, of all flavours from lavender to peach, lemon citrus etc so much so that I kept washing my hands.
