Appu Uncle Curry House is one of the main competitors of Kanna Curry House as both are located in the same area (Less than 5 minutes drive from each other). My friend told me their foods are priced reasonably compared to Kanna Curry House. Me, my boyfriend and sister went there to try their Banana Leaf Rice. Appu Uncle Curry House is located next to a Mechanic Shop, Section 19. They serve Banana Leaf Rice and other dishes as well. Moreover, they are also popular for their Nasi Lemak. A couple of people occupied the restaurant when we arrived at 4pm and it was filling up later on for an afternoon tea break. The ambiance of the restaurant was okay. We ordered 2 Banana Leaf Rice and Mooru Ais.Mooru Ais @ Rm 1.70 Banana Leaf Rice was just Mediocre for us. The curries are so dilute and it has a taste of Rasam in all the curries. We just eat our Rice with Rasam, Yogurt, Pickle and Fried Chillies and curries and vegetables was left untouched. Pity-full meal for us. Even for a price of RM 5.50 per Banana Leaf Rice, I really think it does not deserve a second visit in my opinion. They really failed to impress me on my first visit. i stumbled upon uncle appu during CNY while I was looking for some where to have breakfastamong my family and i we shared a thosai and a roti canaithe thosai was magnificent. i don't know what they do the the flour but the texture was just rightand their roti canai is not oily and soggy like in most mamakstheirs are fragrant and has a crispy edgemore importantly, after eating and drinking so much they only charged me RM9.80 for 6 peopleit's insane!!
