Situated at the small corner of Paramount, this is a Thai restaurant where you could have missed. They've changed their menu since my last visit. Quite limited dishes these days, but still, I expected some good taste from them.Pork Paneang with RicePork slice served with aroma sauce, sweet yet slightly hot, it definitely suits every pork lover's taste. As for their mango salad, I don't quite fond it. Salty yet too spicy for me.For their port satay, despite being real juicy, it was too fat for me. almost 60% of the stick filled with fatty pork, and it disguised me for I'm not really super fond of fatty pork meat. continue reading

I have been wanting to come here for so long ever since I read in a blog about how famous this place is and how people actually sit in rows of tables outside. So finally today I saw it was opened an decided to give it a try since I had the fate to see it open today. This place is open on only Wednesdays to Sundays and only at 6-10 pm and you rarely see cafe opening hours like this. The Lemongrass drink (RM 2) was not thick enough and I felt there was not enough flavours inside. I prefer the one at My Elephant. We ordered a fried omelette (RM 10) which was deep fried with a lot of oil. There was some stuff inside the omelette but I could not make it out. I felt there was too much oil in all the cooking styles here.We ordered the curry (RM 22) wrongly because we did not ask the waiter properly what type of meat was inside. Looking at the photo, we thought it was chicken but it turned out to be very oily pork meat which I rarely eat. We both did not finish it but the curry is something like Thai styled with a sourish taste. The Kangkung (RM 12) was the best as it was not as oily as the ones you order in Chinese da chao. It was not overly spicy too. There are many dishes to choose from here. I heard the cook is a Thai Lady. The wall paintings are also very funky and creative and has a 3D feel to it. The price of the food here is slightly expensive.  continue reading

Pitch your tent at Thai Camp, set up recently at PJ's foodie-friendly site of Taman Paramount.Casual meals can be enjoyed at this temple of spice; hog-worshipping recipes might command the most fervent devotees, from pork phanaeng curry (RM20), vivid in colour & flavour ...... to pork that's stir-fried with stirringly fiery-tangy lime sauce (RM18) ...Fried egg salad, satisfying with seafood (RM17).Crispy-creamy preserved eggs with pork in holy basil sauce. RM18.For fans of eggs, more than a few fun finds: The menu calls this one "Amazing Eggs" (RM15), hard-boiled & heaped with a meaty gravy.pork deep-fried with kaffir lime leaves (RM18), a worthy sacrifice at shrines of sin. This looks like a run-of-the-mill omelette when it surfaces at the table, but break it open to reveal a steaming-hot stewed stuffing of meat & carrots. RM13.pork that's kept simple & savoury with garlic, that magical complement (RM15) continue reading
