Speaking of the famous pork noodle in SS15, I guess the first thing that comes to mind will be long queue long queue! No jokes on that, even if it’s not peak lunch hour, it still takes you roughly 20 mins waiting time! Not many people know about that but the name is actually OOi Noodle House, but regular customers will just call it Zhu Yok Fen. For those who new to it, it is advisable to ask the helpers there about the waiting time before you want to order. There is only reason why this stall is always crowded! Literally the best pork noodle I have ever tried! I do not consider myself is a patient person, especially when it comes to foods. My kind of concept will be food is everywhere, why waste your time on waiting? But this pork noodle really changes my mind set ,it’s not worth to die for but its worth your time! continue reading

Have eaten here since the old spot for the past 18 years. Used to be good but no longer. Service is also terrible and drinks are very expensive. Teh Ice is RM2.20. The boss did not even bother to waive the charge for an extra egg when I did not even order it. As a regular for 18 years, this is unacceptable and it could happen to you. continue reading

This place is not really a restaurant, I would say it is a small stall at the owner house that sell home made minced pork noodle. Not many people know about this place. The kitchen looks like an ordinary kitchen and they even opened the back of their house for people to dine within. Although the stall is not crowded with people during lunch hour, but you can see all the table are being occupied. I have ordered Minced Pork Bihun, which I would consider the best pork noodle I have ever tried. The soup is not too oily and you can feel that the soup is without AJINOMOTO. The mince pork is well marinaded. You also can ordered their side dish which is dumpling and bean curd. There is only one worker, so will be a bit slow is taking order, but no worry, they cook quite fast. Other than parking and the environment there, I think the food there is superb. continue reading

Having to wait 40 minutes for a bowl of noodle, I think it was a little over rated. But the thought came when I was waiting. But even after I finished my noodle, I really don’t see what‘s the big deal…However, I did crave for it after awhile. And from time to time, I always have the urge to return for another bowl. But the turning off part was when you had to wait for 40 minutes. Sometimes I kind of just try not to think about my craving and come out with something equally satisfying to fulfill my cravings. So what makes them so popular?First and foremost, the soup was amazing. Secondly, the ingredients were fresh and served generously at an affordable price. There are ingredients like the pork meat, minced meat, pork intestine, and pork liver. And not to forget, a lot of fried lardons. And the next impressive part that I’ve noticed is that every bowl is prepared individually, each cooked in a tiny pot on stove. I think that’s why we might have to wait a little longer. Not to mention the generous amount of minced pork meats in the noodle which seriously is absolutely worth the money. A small bowl cost RM 5.70 where else large bowl cost RM 6.50 each. Also take note that parking bay can be quite a pain at this area, and as of whether or not if it is worth the waiting time, it is very subjected to each individual. continue reading

My girls and I went all the way to SS 15 for this bowl of Pork Noodles with Soup just because Ezy was highly recommending it.Honestly, I never loved Pork Noodles because of the strong taste, until I tried the one at Ooi Noodle House. I’m not quite sure how the boss cooks the soup, but I thought the smell was really good. I didn’t add an egg for my bowl of noodles because Ezy said it wouldn’t taste the same. It would no longer be original. I asked one without any pork intestines and whatnot because I never eat those.Anyway, it’s really highly recommended like what I was told! There’s no heavy, smelly taste, but the broth was unexplainably good. So heavenly good especially for pork lovers! Priced at RM6.00, the standard was way more than what I expected, so it’s pretty fine.By the way, during my visit, only this particular stall was opened while the others were closed, yet the restaurant was still filled with people eating food served from the same stall. Imagine it! continue reading
