Every time my friend suggested this place, as I am not a mamak lover, I would always shake my head profusely. But this time, I was still full from too heavy a lunch so I just relented. Anyway, we have gone from one cafe to another and do not seem to have any choice. My friend ordered the most famous food here which is the Banana Leaf Rice. The onion curry was thick, superb and so tasty to dip with the crackers. We even ordered 2 mini baskets of crackers which we finished in minutes. The fish curry was also equally tasty. The cucumber salad was a tad too soggy probably due to cucumbers which waters after a while. The side dish of pumpkin and also lentil curry paste was not my taste. Totally not delicious, probably because I am not a fan of both vegetables. I just ate the yellow cabbage and cucumbers and crackers. The tandoori chicken drumstick (RM 6.50) was so-so and the lean chicken was nicely cut into three pieces. But overall quite cooked and tender and most importantly, no blood. Considerably, I rate it better than the other harder and blackened tandoori chicken I have tried. The only downside is the chutney is too watery. I guess one could not have the best of everything. The Mango and Peach Lassi, for RM 3.80 each, is the cheapest I have ever known. Normally lassi cost RM 5 even in kopitiam mamak shops. The best part is the thick concoction and one can feel the chunks of peaches inside. Totally worth the price. continue reading

What do you do on a hot everyday-is-summar's day in Malaysia to cool off and also satisfying a sweet tooth in one fell swoop? Why, have some mango lassi, of coursen! This one is relatively light compared to some places, but I guess a little more liquid means more quenching; though it is a little bit too sweet for my taste. continue reading

Mutton Roghan Josh. This mutton dish was another interesting ones from the menu. It has the right amount of spices and it was very thick. It has a slight spiciness and not extremely spicy type. This dish is fine for those who could take a little bit of spice. The mutton was tender and it blended very well with the spices. The dish was moist and very good to eat with plain naan. continue reading

This restaurant is quite easy to locate. To those that are familiar with Damansara Utama, this is just a few doors away from the Satay Kajang outlet and it is a Halal restaurant. If you love to have some fried items, you can try the Deep Fried Squids which is another highlights item. Well deep fried till crunchiness, the squid do brings the juiciness and tanginess as well. It is simply delicious and I am just falling in love with the crunchy juicy texture.Price: RM10.00 continue reading
