Paradise Dynasty’s la mian is also not too be missed. Freshly prepared right before diners in its open kitchen, the silky handmade noodles come in 18 variations, and are usually served with an assortment of soups, sauces, and ingredients. Highly recommended include la mian with braised pork belly in signature pork bone soup and Szechuan-style la mian with poached marbled beef.

Other Paradise Dynasty must-tries include its Shanghainese dim sum, such as steamed Tianjin bun, light and flaky daikon pastry, and pork dumpling with hot chile sauce; hot or cold appetizers, such as Yangzhou-style chilled “loaf” of assorted eggs, as well as beef and offal in Szechuan sauce; entrées, such as tender braised pork belly and Szechuan-style deep-fried chicken dices; and desserts, such as soufflé ball stuffed with azuki bean paste and banana.

Paradise Dynasty is located at Lot 1F-15 in the Paradigm shopping mall in Kelana Jaya. It captures the finer points of bygone eras in contemporary styles, through a design concept that accentuates China’s rich culture and history. Dark wooden walls built from railroad ties and lit by yellow wall-paneled lights to give a mystical, yet serene and cozy, ambience. There is an indoor stream that snakes through the restaurant’s center, and the flowing water brings a balanced, harmonious feel. Diners will be charmed by reflection of themselves and of the restaurant in the polished bronze ceiling. And for those who desire privacy and a sense of intimacy, there are two semiprivate rooms for mini get-togethers.
