The restaurant is named after the Tranquerah Road (Jalan Tengkera) in Malacca, where Stephanie’s husband, who came from a pure Peranakan family, used to spend his childhood days. Stephanie’s sister-in-law is Celebrity Chef Florence Tan, who played an important role in conceptualizing and developing the recipes for the restaurant’s menu. The crispy flower shaped biscuits are filled with shredded turnips and topped with chopped egg, chili, cucumber and celery. Dip the Pai Tee into the homemade dipping sauce to add a spicy kick to the taste! 2. Keluak Bendi The Tranquerah, Nyonya cuisine, Peranakan cuisine, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, The Strand, Pai Tee, buah keluak, cincaluk The steamed ladies fingers are topped with keluak sambal made of buah keluak, a popular ingredient that is commonly used in Peranakan cuisine. The Tranquerah is by far the only restaurant in KL that offers Nyonya dishes with sauces made of original buah keluak sourced from Indonesia. The taste of buah keluak is unique.
