Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food The restaurant has been around for six years and remains one of few restaurants in Cheras area that serves authentic Thai food. The owner’s wife from Thailand is also the restaurant’s main chef with more than fifteen years of culinary experience in preparing Thai cuisine. Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food The Thai eatery derives its name from the chef’s hometown in Chang Rai, one of the major cities in Thailand. All dishes are carefully prepared following traditional Thai recipe, so that Thai food lovers in Malaysia can truly experience the genuine flavours of Thai cuisine. To suit local tastes, however, the spiciness of some dishes is toned down. Here are six main dishes that will be served during the food tasting event: 1. Steamed Fish with Lemon (泰式柠檬蒸鱼) Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food Steamed fish is the forte of the restaurant. The fresh water fish is steamed to perfection and immersed in lemon soup made of chicken stock and more than ten different spices, including garlic, ginger, chili padi, plum, lemongrass and so on. The soup that is both spicy and sour helps to bring out the freshness of the fish and enhance its taste. The dish is kept warm with charcoal fire. 2. Thai Style Prawn with Cream (泰式奶油虾) Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food One of the restaurant’s best-selling dish. The fresh water prawns are freshly supplied on a daily basis to ensure that the quality is consistent. They are stir-fried with creamy sauce made of butter, fresh milk, garlic and curry leave until the prawns turn red and are fully covered by the sauce. The sauce is so smooth and rich that it adds an extra kick to the fresh and springy prawns. 3. Thai Style Hot & Sour Crab (泰式酸辣蟹) Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food Ever try having your favorite crabs the Thai way? The restaurant uses only live crabs that are sourced from Indonesia. It is stir-fried with thick and creamy sweet and sour sauce with plenty of chili padi thrown in. Ready to get your hands dirty and indulge in the firm yet tender crab meat! 4. Thai Seafood Tomyam Soup (泰式东炎海鲜) Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food The Tomyam Soup is spicy, sour and rich in taste, just the way a decent tomyam soup should be. The soup is simmered with fresh prawns, squid, mushroom, tomato, curry leave and lemongrass until the soup is aromatic and rich in seafood flavours. It is best accompanied with rice to tone down its hotness. 5. BBQ Pork Neck (碳烤猪颈) Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food The dish cannot be found on the restaurant’s menu, yet it is one of the favourite dishes among patrons who know the restaurant well. The BBQ pork uses only pork neck that is tender and chewy. The meat is pre-marinated with herbs and grilled to perfection with charcoal fire. A must-try specialty for BBQ food lovers. 6. Thai Mango Salad (泰式芒果沙律) Restoran Chang Rai Thai Food A mouth-watering appetizer with fresh green mango, onion, chili, dry shrimp and dry squid.
