7 Must Try KL Famous Food!

Looking for delicious food that is located at Kuala Lumpur area with affordable prices isn’t that hard! Additionally, there are many nice street foods to grab either in the morning or in late night. This round we would like to introduce you these delicious and cheap meals to eat in KL! (The restaurants are listed in no particular order.)

1. Lim Ah Leong Curry Mee

This Lim Ah Leong curry noodle is located at Pasar Pudu and their signature dish is the curry laksa that is rich and thick. Add in some tender chicken meat, vegetables and dried tofu into it; superb! Besides curry laksa, they also sell Wantan noodle, braised chicken feet with mushroom noodle, fish ball noodle, pork ball noodle and more. This is a Chinese stall you should not miss in KL!

2. Yoke Heng Restaurant

Claypot Lao Shu Fen would be the signature dish of Yoke Heng Restaurant and their texture here looks just like sharks fin soup. It is thick and smooth, add in some vinegar into the broth and eat it with Lao Shu Fen tastes even better! Other than claypot lao shu fen, this Chinese restaurant have garlic stir fried lala, crispy tofu, tiger prawn noodle and honey pork ribs are also delicious and worth to try.

3. Zok Noodle House

Zok Noodle House has two branches at Puchong (Puchong Jaya and Bandar Puteri). Their signature dumpling wantan noodles are very popular here as well as the Char Siew. Their homemade Chinese food, Char Siew is succulent and juicy! Besides selling noodles, Zok Noodle house does serve Dim Sum including chee cheong fun, crystal shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling and more.

4. Restoran Makanan Teow Chew

They have claypot chicken rice and also Teo Chew style porridge. Their Claypot chicken rice is cooked with anchovies, Chinese sausage, chicken meat and onions. For Teow Chew porridge, they have dishes like luncheon meat, pickled vegetable, pork intestines, spiced pork, grill fish and more. You can also try their dessert, barley and beancurd dessert with ginkgo in this Chinese restaurant after your meal!

5. Bunn Choon

Bunn Choon traditional bakery has more than hundred years of history here. This Chinese stall located inside of Imbi Market in KL. Their egg tarts are really tasty and famous which attracts many customers to queue up for it. They have four flavours that includes original, green tea, coconut and charcoal sesame. The egg tart is baked fresh daily and the egg custard fillings are really tempting! Well, for Green Tea flavored egg tarts, they are only available on Saturday. They also have many types of traditional pastries like salted egg pastry, walnut cakes, lotus paste pastry and more!

6. Ah Fook Chee Cheong Fun

This Chinese stall is very popular in KL as they gained many regular customers throughout the years. Their Chee Cheong Fun here are freshly made daily including the ingredients and sauces to ensure the best for you to eat! They make the Yong Tau Fu and fry on the spot. The Chee Cheong Fun here so smooth and fresh, eaten with their sweet sauce is really delicious! To avoid long queue, you need to get up earlier to this market!

7. Restoran Swee Hing

Swee Hing is located at Sri Petaling, near SMK Sri Saujana. There are many Chinese food choices like pork noodle, char kway teow, popiah, chee cheong fun and more! The Char Siew Wantan noodle here worth the visit! Their Char Siew is soft and the noodle is chewy, topped with their homemade sweet sauce, the combination is just wonderful. Their Wantan noodle is selling like hot cakes. Therefore, you need to go Swee Hing Restaurant earlier to try this Wantan noodle before they sold out!
