7 ‘Home-style’ Restaurants That’s Well Hidden in Klang Valley’s Neighborhood!

Most of the times we tend to overlooked at these home concept restaurants as they aren’t listed but only the neighbors and the foodie will sure to know where good food usually locates at. Let’s hunt for something different this round shall we?

1. Croisette Café @ Bangsar


A poolside hidden café that is located inside of Cascadium Condo, come over here to enjoy some affordable authentic French dishes and most importantly their desserts. The delicately decorated food here totally worth the visit plus overlooking Kuala Lumpur’s night view, totally breath-taking.

2. Thai Home Recipe @ Setapak


A home-style restaurant that serves Thai-style dishes, they have been operating for more than 10 years here.  The lady owner comes from Chiang Mai and cooks the best of Thai dishes especially the Tom Yam and Green curry were one of the signatures here. If you’re not sure of the way, do stop by and ask the neighbors here to point you the way there!

3. Ah Pui Loh Mee


Craving for Loh Mee? Then this is the place you should come to. Smooth and handmade Loh Mee noodles, they have been operating here for more than 30 years. Sells noodle just outside of their own house compound, be sure to click on the link above to get to the correct address!

4. Kepong Ulu Fried Noodle


Located opposite of SMK Kepong, there is this home-style noodle stall that too operates for more than 30 years. Passed on to the third generation now tastes still the same and one of the most ordered here – fried Pan Mee is it! Uses own recipe and handmade Pan Mee noodles that are chewy and springy; the fried Pan Mee is fragrantly good in ‘Wok Hei’! The must try condiment – chili garlic that will surely enhance your plate of pan mee!

5. Semenyih Mee Tomyam


Located in a housing area, many actually know this place and tasted it. Come here for recommended home-cooked Tom Yam noodles that come with prawns, fish balls, pork meatballs and tofu ‘pok’,  pick your noodle and a bowl of tasty spicy sourish Tom Yam is ready!

6. Batu 11 Cheras Pan Mee

Clear broth with a hint of sweetness is what makes the soup Pan Mee famous and recommended. Apart from that, eaten with fried shallots and fried anchovies; everything is made fresh daily. Besides the Pan Mee, remember to order the fried dumplings too!

7. Restaurant Lek Lek

Located at Seri Kembangan here, serves restaurant standard dishes but of course economically friendly prices that you’ll sure to enjoy the food here. One of the recommended dishes like the Threadfin fish paste, it is deconstructed and deboned then turned into the fish paste and making it back to look like a fish, totally mouthwatering and delicious.
