This family-run restaurant in Aman Suria aims to bring “America on a plate” by dishing out homey, all-American dishes. Burgers, ribs, pork chops, meat loaf, fried chicken, and sausages dominates the menu. Meanwhile, Dog Food – fries drenched with cheesy sauce, onions and topped with more cheese – is a must-order here as seen on most of the tables. Other than that, its Pork Chop with Country Gravy, Cheeseburger, Grilled Beer Braised Boston Butt, Sloppy Joe, and Classic Meatloaf are also good to recommend.

The rendang is fragrant from the spices and santan while the sambal with minced meat is sweet with a “just-right” level of spiciness. The rest of its menu is mostly dominated with pork as well.
Those of Hakka decent will find a bowl of awesome Hakka noodles from this restaurant in Aman Suria, comparable to the famous one all the way back in Seremban. Each strand of noodle is slippery and coated with flavourful oily sauce, which we largely suspect to be from lard. Sinful, but it’s a huge bowl of comfort. Its char siew is also well-known. It comes with a decent layering of meat and fats coated in sweet sauce.

Also interesting to note, Pin Xiang is the brainchild of local actor, model and director – Alan Yun. It’s Village Chicken Rice is tender and juicy, the perfect texture for chicken rice. Other than a la carte noodles and rice dishes, home-cooked dishes such as steam fish and crab in various cooking style are also available for lunch and dinner.
For a fuss-free, “dai-chao” style meal with decent pricing, 88 Seafood Restaurant is one of those places where families tend to frequent on days where cooking seems like a hassle. Being a seafood restaurant, do try its Salted Egg Yolk Squid which is worth every drop of cholesterol and calorie. For a less sinful seafood binge, lala in superior broth is equally pleasant. Other than seafood, the Guinness pork ribs covered in sweet dark sauce is also very delicious.
Andes BYO is a hog-dominated restaurant of which forte lies in its thick, juicy and succulent pork burgers. You can’t go wrong with the original burger pairing of pork patty, juicy bacon and sunny-side up. In view of recent trends, Andes BYO has also ventured into brunch menus and savoury waffles. What you have on a burger, you can also have on a fluffy piece of waffle for a more unique experience.
Three porky jewel with home-style cooking and affordable prices lies within the confines of Aman Suria – Betty’s Midwest, Andes BYO and lastly Kalamazoo. Kalamazoo, named after a city in the state of Michigan, also bears the American influence with more kilo-points for its burgers. The courageous ones may try its KZOO Ultimatum Burger – a monstrous serving with four patties of chicken, beef, pork and lamb. Other all-American favourites such as ribs, pastas and sandwiches are also available.
