Souper Tang Signature Soup 汤师爷招牌参鸡汤 (RM39.90++/ 2 pax)

Requested for the soup to be boiling hot, yet it was served barely warm. Asked to send back. It was served slightly hotter the second time although we suspected that the bowl was microwaved.

The meat looked quite red, with lots of bruised markings around. How to eat?

Pan Fried Eggplant with Scallop in XO Sauce
(RM18.90++)

It had a strong alcohol smell when served. It was a very soupy dish, different from what was shown on menu which had looked rather dry.

Simmered Chinese Spinach with Wolfberry (RM15.90++)

Looked not bad, but was rather bland in taste.

Claypot Beancurd with Sliced Dory Fish and Pickled Olive (RM26.90++)

The fish was dry and tough. Quite disappointing dish.

Taang Shi fu really does sell those really good and nutritious soups. This time round I tried the nourishing soup with American ginseng. It was really good. I think the chicken they boiled the soup with made it taste really tasty. The American ginseng smell was not too strong, in fact it went really well with the chicken. Though it was pretty pricey, about RM 20 plus per bowl but I think the nutrients it gives is worth every bit of it!

a couple of my colleagues suggested we head to Taang Shifu for lunch together. as there were a couple of us, we decided to share the Buddha jump over the wall. i was so excited to see the amount of ingredients in the little pot when they served. there were all the generous ingredients like abalone and scallop. the soup was so rich in flavour. it was not purely savoury but also had this sweet taste. very refreshing.

I brought the family to Taang Shifu for our weekly family dinner. it is time to replenish the body with good nutrients and taang shifu have just that. i ordered the double boiled chicken with shark fin. it was indeed wholesome. the soup itself is so rich in flavour. one thing i like about taang shifu's soup is that it is not too salty. they are very generous with the ingredients and make you feel that your money are well spent.
