I've mostly ordered from the set menu where the food is good but the menu doesn't change much. All courses are generally good although the desserts are fairly unimaginative.Of special interest to me is their pizza because I do like pizza and I was glad to see that they've not adopted some of the practices of the other restaurants around KL. They've resisted overloading the pizza with too many toppings and too much cheese. The balance is right and the flavours are good. The crust is also good, crisp but not too thin.I do like that they offer complimentary bread. My first visit's bread basket featured a very nice selection but subsequent visits had a more limited variety. It could be my luck. 繼續閱讀

Eat well without burning a hole in your pocket! Go for the daily set lunch priced between RM23-RM28++ per person. The 3-course set (RM28++) consists of a starter, a main and dessert of the day. I chose Midi 57 Salad with tuna chunks & hardboiled egg in a caper dressing (refreshing though a tad salty) then followed by a seared Chicken Thigh with Bacon Garlic Butter Gravy on Potato Mash and Sauteed Mushroom. Delicious! Dessert was a scoop of ice cream.Surprisingly affordable pizzas (around RM38++ each) that are baked in a real wood-fired oven! Even has a dedicated pizza chef and the outlet uses its own blend of imported flours to ensure the pizza dough is crisp yet sturdy enough to hold its toppings. We counted 18 different variations so you'd be spoilt for choice! Lots of porky dishes available covering appetisers, mains and pasta (three are home-made). Most popular dessert is Tiramisu or Panna Cotta. 繼續閱讀

The Bangkung Row has been heating up this month, thanks to the entry of two Italian eateries that take their business seriously _ first, Madisons, spearheaded by an Australian chef, and now, Midi 57, whose kitchen is energized by an Italian. Run by the folks behind Bangsar Shopping Center's Le Midi Mediterranean restaurant, Midi 57 takes over the corner lot previously occupied by D'Ceilo. Like Madisons, it's a pork-loving outlet. Midi 57's Campagnola wood-fire pizza (RM33++) is well-executed enough, topped with plenty of pork sausages, a sunny-side-up egg, tomatoes, mushrooms and mozzarella. If it's pizza with panache and pasta with a porky punch that you want, Midi 57 might be worth considering. With a nice red to pair with the food, the minutes turn into hours before we can notice. 繼續閱讀
