I have never been to korea but I think this might be the tastiest patbingsu (red bean shaved ice with rice cakes) I have tried in Malaysia and I have tried quite a few. Ever since the K-wave started to hit the majority of of the community, people started to have an interest in korean culture especially their food. Korea is famous for their street food and cafe culture, and riding the wave, korean cafes started popping up here and there all over Malaysia. Some are just taking the advantage of the fad while serving subpar dishes that they copy the recipe from google while some cafes are really good at offering delicious authentic korean snacks and drinks. I was in the hunt for a good patbingsu as I have never tasted the real deal, I was mainly aiming for what is nearest to the description I have heard on korean shows and also to my imagination. The best patbingsu I have tasted so far is from Caffe Bene in Gurney Paragon mall. They have two sizes available and I ordered the smallest of the two to share with my two sisters. We were very happy to find the serving is big enough to share and they are very generous with their red bean. Their ice is very soft and fluffy and one big rice cake comes with it.
