So I got to know a fellow blogger friend from Sibu was in town, and upon a request to meet up, landed myself at Little Penang Kafe @ Midvalley Megamall for a short dinner. The two side dishes which we ordered were the Penang styled Otak Otak, and the Lor Bak. Very similar to what we would find on the streets of Penang, the Otak Otak was the wet version. The Lor Bak had ample chicken meat inside, crispy on the outside. Tasty stuff there, which complement our main dishes really well. The rather high prices didn't sit too well with me though. On the menu, this Char Kuey Teow dish was tagged as one of the chef's recommendation. There was a choice of the normal one as well as the "seafood type" which went for a slightly higher price of RM18. Shown above is the normal one, which came in a rather huge portion, with 3-4 pieces of prawns and "crab meat" on top. The taste is almost similar to the good ones I've had in Penang, except for the slightly wetter texture. Pretty good I would say. continue reading

i like to come here to little penang cafe beside the famous madam kwan. as here no need to queue that long and i also can find the local cuisines which i craving for during my weekedns. many people will aware of the Little Penang Kafe @ Mid Valley because the location is quite hidden, opposite of toast master.very strategic and easy to find this place and as usual also pack during lunch time in midvalley. the price is quite ok here. i love the asam laksa and the famous prawn mee. the prawn is big and the soup i like the most.also in this restaurant, the signature dishes is the Nasi Lemak Penang, Chicken Nasi Lemak, Char Kuey Teow and you really need to try this when visiting little penang cafe. continue reading

The layout of this restaurant is much similar to those "char chan teng", hence it brings out a great atmosphere as if you are eating the authentic penang food plus it is equiped with air conditioner so that you can eat comfortably. We have ordered the Asam Laksa and Rojak. The Asam Laksa look appetizing. In fact, it tastes not bad too. Same goes to the rojak. The only drawback is the price. It costs a bit higher than the other restaurants which provide similar food. continue reading
