this is what i ordered for myself at In House Cafe. I ordered fish because i thought it was healthier lol. it turns out the fish meat was crisp fried like fish nuggets.. just that this is bigger in size. it was surprisingly soft and i could cut the fish meat easilly but it was also quite soggy and cold. the sauce that came with it is Hawaiian sauce which tasted pretty much like sweet and sour sauce, except it was tangier and had this lemon-ish taste. continue reading

I couldn't recall the name of what I ordered. It was Kam Heong Chicken with Rice served in a small bamboo tub. If I'm not mistaken, mine was the most satisfying one among what my friends and I had ordered. It was definitely not the best one I have eaten so far. I can easily get one that is much better than this from a restaurant near my house at much lower price. Although it was served in a rather cute way, I disliked the fact that I had to dig deeply into the tub just to get a mouthful of rice, because it was topped with generous amount of chicken and onions. In my opinion, as a person who has lower level of acceptance for spiciness, it wasn't spicy at all.As for the cup of hot tea, it was Hot Jasmine Tea, I think. I didn't ask for sugar, and they did not provide me with any sugar either, so it was almost tasteless. Still, I'm completely fine with it, for my love for hot drinks. continue reading

Now that I learnt of how to appreciate tea much better after some tea appreciation workshops and hang outs with tea aficionados, thus I ordered this Long Jing Tea over flower tea this time As it name depicts, the tea has a clear floral scent which goes down with any food very well. I actually never thought it would be offered here at this fusion café and indeed in very generous portion too. As for the Chicken Rice with Black Pepper, it was decently tasty. Though I wondered shouldn’t it be called Chicken Chop Rice, haha. Chicken meat was tender and juicy too. Portion wise was sufficient, just that it lacked the crispiness on the skin side as it seems to like pan-fried, but which was better as it wouldn’t be too oily then. Good thing that they served the black pepper gravy in another small bowl so that you could add the topping as per your preference. Anyhow, it’s still savoury to the taste bud! ^^ continue reading
