Mama lissa is a Malay restaurant that serves a variety of Malay food including nasi lemak. It is located at Bukit Jambul Shopping Complex, Jalan Rumbia, Bayan Lepas.Mama lissa nasi lemakNasi lemak is one of my all-time favourite food. This nasi lemak is a quite simple one. It contains coconut rice, boiled egg, sambal suace and cucumber. It is wrapped with a banana leaf. The sambal sauce is not too hot and it is full with flavour. continue reading

Mama Lissa's is the only Penang eaterie (that I know of) that is serving genuine Melaka cuisine on the island. It has a nice semi alfresco ambience with the circular wall surrounding the dining area with plants. We ordered their signature nasi lemak set with their Melaka spicy fried chicken, ayam rendang & Portuguese green curry & all were very tasty dishes. The nasi lemak was smooth with a distinct coconut & pandan aroma & the accompanying sambal gave a slightly spicy kick that was just enough for lovers of this favourite Malaysian dish. The Melaka fried chicken was really really tasty, warning!! it's so nice it makes you want to order more!!! I highly recommend! (tip# ask them to fry fresh chicken as it makes all the difference:-)The Portuguese Green curry was a tasty alternative dish I not try before & it was a very pleasant satisfying dish that was easy on the taste buds. The Ayam Rendang is a Melaka classic & Mama Lissa's did it justice by serving a very tasty dish that tasted far better than it looked on the plate!!! continue reading
