There are selections of set lunch which minimum price of a set is RM12+ (drinks are not included); you get to choose 2 dishes+1rice (add RM2 for noodles)+dessert+miso soup or pay more for 3 dishes selections.I selected Shogayaki chicken which i think the taste is not bad because i can hardly find the similar taste elsewhere but portion is too little for me. continue reading

去gurney mall逛街真的很方便，因为这里的美食选择很多。经过koi restarant的时候，那日本餐的瘾又来了。进了去餐厅，点了我喜欢的拉面。拉面价格不高，算是便宜的，因为这餐厅位于mall里头。汤很鲜甜，面也很Q。卖相也很不错，值得推荐。 continue reading

Had lunch with some close friends at Koi Japanese. Since it was my first time there, my friends reconmended the ramen. In fact, they had a promotion for cheaper ramens that day which was actually the main reason we opt for ramen in Koi. I ordered the spicy miso ramen which wasn't really spicy and not served hot but only luke warm. It's served with only a slice of steam egg, some veggies, a japanese fish slice and a piece of chicken. Considering the ingredients in it, I think it's a bit over priced! I like the noodles though, it has a smooth texture and feels nice when chewing.As for the other two ramens as above, my friends gave them a thumbs up! Heard that the soup for beef ramen was superb and no pungent beef smell at all! The environment was comfortable and relaxing with passable service. KOI is my visit during my trip back to Penang. The restaurant is indeed stylish and serving an authentic Japanese cuisine. It is located at the New Wing of Gurney Plaza. KOI is serving a variety of Japanese cuisine like bento, as well as sashimi. They have a large variety of choices of Japanese food to be tried there.We ordered "KOI" Sashimi platter where it comes with 5 selection of sashimi. The 15 pieces of sashimi are the assortment of 3 pieces each of salmon, red tuna, white tuna, mackerel as well as octopus. The sashimi is fresh as well as the texture is nice. This is the first time I came to KOI Sushi because they are doing sushi buffet.We waited outside the restaurant for quite around half an hour although booking was made, which cause us to feel unhappy about it. However, when we get into the restaurant, the environment is very comfortable and neat. The service crews and chefs are very polite. The food also come fast although there are lots of customers.KOI sushi are all freshly made especially their handroll. Love it~ Looking forward for the next sushi buffet~ continue reading
