Once we talk about Raja Uda, Butterworth, Penang, the first thought that comes into mind is definitely FOOD. There are lots of nice foods in Raja Uda, the most famous now should be TOMYAM noodle. This is the famous Tomyam in Raja Uda. It is awesome. I bet you can’t resist the mixture of sour yet spicy of the soup, and also the freshness seafood. In penang, most of the stall selling Tomyam allow us to choose the ingredients we want. It is ranging from vegetables, fish cakes, fish balls, big prawn and so forth. The one you shouldn't missed out to pick is the fried fish and the abalone pieces. There are different type of noodle too, most people prefer maggi mee. Yup, and some will like the TOMYAM PORRIDGE. Tomyam porridge is quite special to people who never heard before. This is a famous Tom yam mee stall located along Raja Uda, opposite to another famous fish steamboat restaurant. I came along far from Penang Island just to try the famous tomyam mee here. As I know there were another branch of this tom yam mee stall located at Air Itam in Penang. More or less same taste and similar ingredient. Unlike the other tomyam mee that you ever had, this wan let you to choose your favourite ingredient before they cookes for you. There were plenty of choices includes abalone slice, tofu, sausages, fish balls and many more. Another things that you must try is their fried fish. It makes the tomyam soup taste even better! Although there were lots of customer queueing for it, I actually don’t have to wait long as they was speedy in cooking . The red hot tomyam soup taste a little of sweet, sour and spicy. It balanced up each other and make the spicy clear soup appetizing. The price is reasonable depends on what you had. It is worthwhile to come that far since it turns out to be my firm favourite food. continue reading

I found that the food in rajauda quite like to give their customer choice, not only the curry noodles can pick and choose, the tom yam mee also can pick and choose. This is one of the famous tom yam mee in Rajauda, actually there got 2 similar stall in Rajauda that provide ingredient for customer to pick and choose, but this stall is more fast in preparing the food compare to the other. The ingredient prepare at here got fried fish, this is the most famous ingredient that the customer like, mushroom, fishball, meatball, green vegetable, and tin abalone. Don't think it look big actually it is small, I like to eat ingredient so I pick a lot of the ingredient, like fried fish, meatball, mushroom and tin abalone. The tom yam soup at here is not really very spicy but here provide small chilli, so if you want more spicy, go get the chilli. For the taste of the meatball, it is normal meatball that can get from the market. While the tin abalone is not bad, I like to eat it, but it is quite expensive = =. The special thing is the fried fish, the fish is very fresh and it is fried on the spot, so it is very crunchy. The price of the noodle is depend on what ingredient you take. continue reading
