This Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul is a family business from their great grandfather. The stall is located at a side lane of the road just outside the Joo Hooi coffeeshop. The lane is always packed with tourist and customer queueing for this teochew chendul. The chendul comes with a bowl of shaved ice, coconut milk, gula melaka, chendul and read beans. The chendul comes with a bowl of shaved ice, coconut milk, gula melaka, chendul and read beans. The taste is sweet and some salty taste due to the coconut milk at the same time leaving my mouth with fragrance of gula melaka. The red beans are nicely cooked, sweet and sandy. Great combination with the chendul. Very refreshing and chilling for a bowl of chendul especially for the hot weather like in Penang. I always finish my bowl of chendul happily and satisfying. You can stand at the road side to enjoy the chendul or order into the Joo Hooi coffeeshop but with extra RM0.50 service charge.
