Compromising both a diner and a clothing store. This is the place you will want to go for a lookout for some interesting brands. The restaurant motto is "Come for the clothes, stay for the food!".

Environment/interior-decor:

Walking into Switchblade on a Friday night put ones into assumptions that the place will be filled with a merriment crowd. Stated on their website and here and there, it is supposing a place where groups who are into American memorabilia hang out. However, when I was there the place was dead quiet with just 3 tables of patrons. The décor was pretty interesting, one part of the shop was a mini boutique, and the other parts have bits of pieces of American memorabilia. The place is definitely somewhat cosy, but as compared to other places decorated in rockability inspiration with American memorabilia items, this place is still lacking to make a huge impression. I was told by my friend that the decor and positions changes once a while (perhaps Saturday/Sunday is a better day).

Heat Burger (left:Rm 24.90) & Smoke-Out Chicken burger (right: Rm 21.90) & ice-lemon tea

The heat burger was described as 100% homemade beef patty with glazed onions and black pepper gravy. The smoke-out chicken burger was described as homemade chicken patty with onions, red peppers and green capsicum. The sound of homemade is definitely tempting, but one and few bites into the burgers were a disappointment. As you can see the overall combination was a spell for the worst, the dried chicken and hardly any flavour although slightly contributed by chilli sauce was just hard to eat. The heat burger on the other hand, fares better although not as good as well. Compared to the chicken burger, it is definitely more juicy but not as juicy as well. The heat burger is definitely not dry since loaded with black pepper sauce, but the black pepper sauce it’s a killer. Overpowering the burger, the distinctive tongue can only taste black pepper, and it’s not a good black pepper sauce. In my opinion, the black pepper used is off low quality or either from ready-make powder sauce. Ice-lemon tea is not bad and I think they mix ready-make powder with real lemon juice.

Service: Quite slow, which is ironic since there are hardly any patrons. Most of the time, the staff are busy chatting with each other or watching tv. No rude waiters here.

Price: The price for one burger is about Rm 22.0-25.0, which in my opinion is pricey for the size and quality of the burgers given compared to other burger joins like Burgerlab etc. Luckily I bought this for Rm 12.60 (with drinks) with the use of vouchers.

Verdict: I can’t give my opinion as an overall for switchblade since I only tried their burgers, but I can say that fast food and other burger joints taste much better. However it is a good place to meet up with those who share the same passion.
