Tried this place out for lunch few days back and was left very disappointed. The overall atmosphere & service is good. Typical casual Japanese type of set up but when it comes down to food it starts getting negative.Had their Tonkotsu Ramen, chawanmushi & mix skewers. Every single one of them tasted bad. I've had better instant ramen versus what they gave me. The broth was weak & noodles hard. Big no nos for a bowl of proper ramen. The chawanmushi barely had anything inside. The skewers were a mix of pork & chicken items but were poorly marinated. Tasted rather bland.Only saving grace for this place was the drinks. My mango calpis soda & my mate's milky green tea was rich & flavourful. Value wise this place is too expensive for the rubbish they are serving.Would never recommend this place to anyone. There are so many better outlets out there. continue reading

Tuna salad here at Watami is actually very good. I'm surprised that their tuna is quite fresh. The portions are huge and it's sprinkled with sesame seeds and doused in citrus sauce for a zesty zingy balance. Fish roe adds to the saltiness of the dish. continue reading

Tokyo Meibutsu Stamina DonIf you are nearby Watami during lunch time, they have a few selected dishes that you wouldn’t be able to find in their original menus, and yes they are only served during lunch hour. Take this Tokyo Meibutsu Stamina Don for an example, stir fried with pork slices and lotsa onions, it is definitely one of the best japanese dons I have had out there. To top it off, mixing the pork slices mixed onions with the egg yolk makes it really smooth and totally alluring. I am serious and if only they put in their main menu and serve it at any other time, I might just visit Watami pretty often. Unfortunately, I don’t work around the area and they don’t serve this during weekends. The surprising thing I discovered on my Watami visit is their extensive menus. They have plenty of drinks and food; they believe that they will always have something for everyone. I love their comfortable space. It’s definitely a restaurant that you could spend a long period of time there just enjoying your food, drinks and time with people. The food is up to standard, and for the price you pay, you get a decently large portion enough for sharing. It’s a little bit high but rest assured, the quality of the food will make you feel that the money spent is all worth it. continue reading

I am always a big fans of watami basically and this round being in Watami, i will try the western fusion pizza.Achovies and Garlic Seafood Pizza which is sure to delights for seafood lovers. The pizza and seafood lovers will definite to fall in love with the squids, shrimps, and scallops which is loaded on a bed of the homemade tomato sauce which is well infused with the anchoviews and garlic, and blanketed with a layer of pipping hot melted cheese. The thin pizza crust compliments the topping with a perfect crunch whilst the Japanese pesto sauce adds an extra zing in every bites.Price: RM 24.90 continue reading
