如果说日本美食只限制在于寿司,刺身,那就对日本太过于不公平了。其实日本对于食物非常讲究,除了口味要好之外,不管是呈现,食物的食材等等,都是要顶级的。喜欢日本文化的人应该都懂这点。今天呢,要分享的是一个比较特别的,就是只专门卖“鸡肉” 的日本美食说实在的我真的没试过类似日本“鸡” 只料理。日前碰巧得到Openrice的邀约,才有机会到来这家 鶏鬨Yakitori Toridoki那要开始吃前,先跟大家说说什么是 Yakitori 吧.Yakitori 其实就是日本闻名的串烧烤肉。利用“Kushi"也就是日本串的意思,采用铁,竹枝或其他的把鸡肉都给串上,然后在火炭上考,有点类似我们的BBQ感觉。不过都说了,他们对食物很讲究,我们平时BBQ只用鸡翼,看看他们用什么吧? momo (もも), chicken thigh"negima" (ねぎま), chicken and spring oniontsukune (つくね), chicken meatballs(tori)kawa ((とり)かわ), chicken skin, grilled until crispytebasaki (手羽先), chicken wingbonjiri (ぼんじり), chicken tailshiro (シロ), chicken small intestinesnankotsu (なんこつ), chicken cartilagehāto / hatsu (ハート / ハツ) or kokoro (こころ), chicken heartrebā (レバー), liversunagimo (砂肝) or zuri (ずり), chicken gizzardtoriniku (鶏肉), all white meat on skeweryotsumi (四つ身), pieces of chicken breast从鸡皮,鸡肝到鸡肠。。。他们一点都不浪费。唯一没出现的就是鸡脚~一步入宁静的Yakitori Toridoki 后,坐着一下,就有了这个Potato Salad给我们。我们有点惊讶,这我们没点啊!啊,原来每一位顾客都可以得到免费的Potato Salad 这样开胃菜哦~~经过了一番塞车的折腾,又一晚食物急速送到,心里倍感温暖啊~~加分了!日本人就这么体贴啊!当然要开始吃肉前是不是也要来个开胃”菜“ 啊?这里的服务员都身穿日本袍,为我们呈上这个需要加 "cheddar cheese" 的 Konsai Salad.Konsai Salad 是用不同蔬菜结合,有金瓜,木薯 等等, 刚烫过的蔬菜热热的,cheddar cheese 一撒上去,马上就融化其中,再加上一些酱料的结合,这个口感真的很棒啊! 很值得一试,价钱 RM18.Teba Age 鸡翼 RM10 一点都不普通,我们常常吃到的是利用蜜糖来腌制。这个呢有咸中带天,绝对不是用蜜糖而是利用特制Shoyu 来腌制~这道Sunagimo Ahijyo RM18 就特别啦~看到那褐色的吗?呵呵,那就是鸡肝啦!!里面好多块鸡肝哦!而且是要配烤面包吃的~虽然我有点接受不到鸡肝,不过男友超喜欢~他说味道好特别。Maruyaki RM45 外脆内扎实,虽然看似普通,但它是经过健康的材料如日本芝麻油和竹盐腌制过夜的,然后再利用从日本进口的机器把鸡烤得恰到好处!啊~~一把剪刀下去,那只鸡就四分五裂了~~过程太快了我最喜欢的鸡胸肉!再搭配特制的酱料,今晚我敢说没白来了!蛤~~你看我对什么傻笑了?就是传说中的 yakitori 出来啦!耶!Tsukune RM11 也是当晚我最喜欢的。一拿起来就是扎实厚厚的混合鸡肉,加入罗勒不同的日本酱料调味,味感超级棒。要下去就有一种不同的口感,然后有一些些的焦味,嗯!!Yakitori Negima RM5 ,鸡腿加日本韭葱,每一口一定要吧韭葱也咬上,这样才不会对不起这道料理,因为他们是分不开的,咬下去还会有咔咔声呢!Yakitori Toridoki RM 8, 给热爱鸡腿及鸡胸爱好者。 有没好奇为什么每个形状都很好看,原来是鸡肉经过挑选后,再用鸡皮包上~特别吧?我吃过那么多Onigiri,就是没尝过这个 里面有 cheese 的切开后cheese都流了出来,哇~~而且onigiri是烤的耶!Cheese Yaki Onigiri RM12吃到满肚子鸡后,我真的要投降了~~不过老板说,特地给我们留了这个Houjicha Pudding RM10. 原来这个每天只限量弄一百个。吃了第一口后,突然觉得这个很珍贵,因为实在太美味了!!!吃到那么多甜品,这个绝对会容纳我最爱的top list里。话说问老板为什么那么好吃,原来这个布丁是加了日本上等的绿茶Houjicha,除了茶香味飘着之外,我就快要融化在那淡淡甜滋滋的感觉。突然就问老板说,我可以不可以再来一个啊?老板说我吃的是最后一个了。。。怎么这样啊? 为什么不早说?! *呜呜*特别推荐这家Yakitori Toridoki因为厨师都是必须到日本训练一段时间才可以在这里烹煮这些食物。而且材料都是只用日本运来的~~所以我们当晚吃到的,可以说是真正的日本料理了呀!感动到~~Yakitori Toridokiaddress:No40, Jalan 24/70A, Desa Sri Hartamas,50480, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiatel:+60-3-6206-4676 / +60-12-937-3754open:5:30pm〜12 midnight(11:00 food last order)(11:30 drink last order) continue reading

ToriDoki is a “Yakitori” (grilled chicken skewers) restaurant, imported all the way from Tokyo, Japan. As what it is in Tokyo, its first oversea branch, located in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur also serves only “chicken” dishes. Yes, you read it correctly, only chicken and everything of its parts. So, it is a Japanese style everything “Chick-In” restaurant.How’s the food? As much as I enjoyed the hospitality, environment and design, I was impressed by the food served as well. As mentioned, all ingredients are freshly prepared in day-to-day basis, not some frozen stocks. That’s why the freshness, texture and taste was preserved originally for us to consume. Now, let’s look at the food.Konsai Salad! I think this might be the best Japanese style salad I ever tried, topped with plenty of cheese. Healthy yet delicious! I have no idea what topping or sauce they used but we just can’t stop eating this. Recommend to order this while having the chicken to balance up your meal.Here comes the chicken parts, start with the wings. As normal as it may look, these wings actually taste good. I believe these deep fried chicken wings were topped with Teriyaki sauce because it tasted sweet. Crispy from outside but yet tender inside.How about the yakitoris?It’s time for dessert! I assure you this dessert won’t disappoint you! Fyi, this is their hot selling item too and as told, it ran out of stock easily. Dinner time! If you spend a long time to think what to eat for dinner, yet still can't figure out what to eat, why not try out! This the first and only Japanese food restaurant which called TORIDOKI. TORIDOKI is a Japanese restaurant which specializing in chicken dishes and Yakitori. TORIDOKI in Desa Sri Hartamas is the 1st international branch, and they decided to make it in Malaysia. Woohoo! In this restaurant, they maintained the Japanese culture as you can see in the interior design of the restaurant. Otoshi - Yasai ShiraaeWhenever you're here, they will serve you appetizer before you enjoy any other food. This is the appetizer which they also serve in Japan. Otoshi is basically an appetizer which make from various type of vegetable with special sauce. Yakitori - Toridoki RM8, Negima RM5,Tsukune RM113 type of grilled chicken in one plate.Toridoki is make form Mune (Chicken breast), Kawa (Chicken Skin) and Momo (Chicken Thight). The chicken is so juicy and soft. For those which BBQ, make sure you order this! You will never regret for trying this! Beside chicken, vege is inserted between the chicken so that you won't feel so oily and feel so fresh with every bite of it!Negima is grilled chicken thight.Tsukune is the combination of Mune (Chicken breast), and sunagimo (chicken gizzard). Konsai Salad RM18This is a salad which make from different type of vegetables roots. It taste even better when it topped with cheese. Cheese lover high 5!Nagaimo Garlic Butter RM12Mountain yam, fried with garlic and butter. This yam is so soft and juicy. You can even eat this even though you do not have teeth. The butter smell so good. Teba Age RM10Teba age is a fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce. It doesn't taste that spicy as I though. Suitable foe children and elderly. Sunagimo AhijyoSunagimo Ahijyo is a dish where there's chicken gizzard with vegetable (stewed with oilve oil) and served with grilled baguette. The baguettes was perfectly golden and crunchy. Apply some of the olive oil onto the baguettes, so that it become soft.Tori Maruyaki RM45Whole roasted chicken. Surprisingly, this roast chicken is not dry at all. It's so juicy, you can even see the chicken essence is dripping down on your plate! You will never get enough of this, trust me! They will help you to cut into small pieces before they you are ask to eat. You may eat the chicken with 3 different type of sauce. I personally love the spicy one! Taste soooo good! After eating this, no one still need KFC anymore! Camembert Cheese Yaki Onigiri RM12This is a grilled rice ball inserted with cheese. This grilled rice ball is a bit dry. For those who like dry and hard rice, you should try this! Dashimaki Tamago RM14Order and they make it on he spot! They make sure they serve the freshest tamago is town, so they only make the tamago when customer order it! This tamago is the juiciest tamago I've ever eat! Yum yum yum...Houjicha Pudding RM10This dessert is cold and soft. Pudding dissolve in the mouth in few seconds. Weeee! I love this pudding so much! Toridoki is a fairly new restaurant (about 4 months old since its opening a few months ago) in Desa Sri Hartamas. Toridoki prides itself in serving the best chicken dishes - you can find 'chicken' on almost every page of its menu.Kitchen area is open for everyone to see and I find it impressive that the staffs can work around such a tight and cramped space.Yay for tatami mats. For starters, take heart to know that the restaurant will serve you a complimentary appetizer for your meal. It changes day-to-day but we got potato salad when we visited.First dish for the night was Konsai Salad (root's vegetable's salad). The salad is made of Japanese root vegetables, covered with mayonnaise and then grated with parmesan cheese. Yes, that's one huge cheese there. I thoroughly enjoyed the Konsai salad and it's one of my favourite here although it's not chicken.Then comes Nagaimo Garlic Butter (Japanese yam with garlic and butter). Personally, it's one of the least favourite dishes from Toridoki. For one, I think it's too oily. Although it's fragrant, the overall taste leaves me wanting more - don't really have much taste and I think adding more garlic would fix that. Perhaps Toridoki was hesitant in putting more garlic because not everyone likes the taste of garlic.Next in line is the Teba Age (deep fried chicken wing). One of my personal favourites at Toridoki. Everybody loves deep fried chicken wings right? Crispy and fragrant with the right amount of marination to give you tasty and uber crispy wings. Taking a break from the crispy fried wings, next was the Sunagimo Ahijyo (chicken gizzard and 8 kinds of vegetables served in hot plate with french loaf). Honestly I didn't find this dish very special taste-wise.Back to chicken. One of the main stars in Toridoki is Maruyaki (grilled whole chicken). The size of the chicken is smaller than the regular chicken, but take my word for it that the portion is sufficient if you've ordered other dishes as well. Three condiments will be provided for the grilled whole chicken. It's marinated but I think not long enough for the marination to be absorbed into the chicken flesh so the condiments add more taste to the chicken. Oh ya, the skin is super crispy!Toridoki boasts of making fresh tamago, and it's hot when served. Honestly I love it but RM14 seems a little overpriced for me. Also, I realised I didn't take a picture of the Toridoki logo stamped on the tamago from the right point of view and I tried rotating the picture but it doesn't make sense due to the angle and framing of the original photograph.Matsu Ni - soup with chicken innards and tofu. That round thing in the middle is chicken ovary, not fishball or meatball. Can't bear to eat such thing (I don't take innards) but people on my table were telling me it tastes like egg. I didn't take anything else from the pot except to try the soup, which was quite good.Alright, here comes the other stars from Toridoki, the yakitoris (skewered chicken):Yakitori - Tsukune is a skewered chicken made of different parts of a chicken. It is grilled using sweet sauce and the texture is just right. Yakitori - Negima. Since the skewered chicken is made of all chicken thigh, there's leek to balance out in case you think you're stuffing yourself with too much chicken.Yakitori - Toridoki is a chicken skewered made of chicken thigh and chicken breast wrapped with chicken skin. Chicken breast is almost as tender as the chicken thigh. Taste good enough even without sauce.Another dish we tried that night was Cheese Yaki Onigiri (camember cheese with grilled rice ball). I actually prefer if the rice ball is not grilled (I like onigiri that way) but overall this onigiri is very pleasant to have. Cheese is not too much so it won't make you jelak.Another dish I really like for the night was not chicken but the Houjicha pudding because I'm a sucker for desserts it's something different, a special kind of dessert made from Japanese green tea. Uber fragrant and a great ending to a meal with lotsa chicken.Overall, I think Toridoki really thrives in making good yakitori. Be sure to try the Houjicha pudding! Price is rather steep here though but seeing that it is Desa Sri Hartamas, you can be sure that's the average price for food around the area.Just a word of caution, I think everyone will already know that Desa Sri Hartamas area is infamous for its parking. The humble yakitori is the main character of Toridoki, grilled any part from chicken on skewers are just the perfect comfort food especially a hard day of work and stress, paired with beers is the best! All these yakitori meat is so tender and delicious. Toridoki RM 8 (Most popular dish, Chicken breast and thigh)Negima RM 5 (Chicken thigh and Japanese leek)Tsukune RM11 (Chicken meatball)Tori Maruyaki RM 45Must try! Roasted whole chicken. This is a pre-order dish because it need a lot of time for preparation. Chicken are marinated 1 day before with herbs and seasoning, roasted for 1 hour before served. The chicken was very tender and has great fall-off-the-bone chicken meat.Served with 3 sauces (spicy sauce, Himalaya Sea Salt and Japanese Soy sauce) which to help kick up my taste buds.Camembert Cheese Yaki Onigiri RM 12Houjicha Pudding RM 10.Love this so so much! Made with Hojicha the roasted green tea, i always love this more than steamed Matcha. The taste is heavenly delicious, very smooth pudding texture with aroma of Hojicha and followed by brown sugar syrup, definitely re-order 123 times for me! A wide range of alcohol available here, included beers, highball, Hoppy, Shochu, Sour, Sake, Wine and cocktails.If you prefer to try something authentic Japanese style, try Hoppy.
