One of The Loaf branch is located at Lower Ground Floor, Empire Shopping Gallery. This bakery opened the first outlet in Langkawi Island in 2006. It has gained popularity to both tourists and islanders alike. The Loaf currently has a few outlets in Malaysia. The Loaf are made daily using traditional Japanese techniques. The Loaf also offers a full range of à la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus for those who appreciate a dining experience in a relaxed ambience. I have bought Deep Fried Custard Cream. The outer layer is crispy, but you still can feel the soft texture and it is filled with milky custard cream. Delicious snack for the afternoon tea. continue reading

There were so much choices I just couldn’t make up my mind so I randomly picked a custard bun and olive bread stick. One is soft and the orther is hard loaf. Despite the hard texture, the olives inside the bread stick was very interesting. Its not just bakeries they’re selling, they also have lasagna, and even Japanese curry chicken. We ordered the salad just to see how well is it. It wasn’t awesomely great, but its not bad either. One thing for sure, it was fresh. Which I feel essantial in salads. This is the garden salad. If you must have meat source then there is the Chicken Cajun Garden SaladAnd if you really, really like chocolate, then you must try chocolate Danish too. Top quality chocolate (tempered for sure) with great pastry layers rich with butter fragrant. continue reading

Recently, The Loaf did a campaign called "Know your bread" and during a certain period, a particular bread would be marked down to allow customers to try it. During one of this campaign, I bought a garlic bread which was on promotion. The garlic butter was very fragrant and it penetrated deep into the bread. The core of the garlic bread was fluffy but the crust was rock hard. I enjoyed the garlic bread though I wished I had some soup to go along with it. continue reading

Most of the time, bakeries offer the usual selections of breads but not at The Loaf. Here it is always flocked with huge crowd because of their creativity and freshness in baking. It surprises me with many creative breads, and I am glad to find a such loaf with a very hard texture on the outside. Campagne Fromage @ RM20.00This hard bread stuns me with its price tag. I just wonder how can a huge rock like this can cost so much! But with the price I pay, I am satisfied with something worth in return. The bread is stuffed generously with dried fruits and assorted nuts, which make the bread texture so good with crunchiness! Every bite of the bread is filled with healthy nuts and fruits bits which are naturally sweet, and the bread itself is very soft and fluffy after being warmed in the oven for a few minutes. A very hearty breakfast for the family indeed! continue reading
