Located at the business centre of Kelana Jaya, next to CIMB bank is where Syed Bistro is. Syed Bistro in Kelana Jaya has been around for more than 10 years, and it is a regular place for me to hang out with friends and just chill out.I came to this mamak recently for a nice supper and to catch up with old friends. The first to arrive is satay which is meant for sharing. I ordered 8 beef satay and 4 chicken satay. It arrived not too long, as the satay was always being grilled nonstop. Even though it was not made when ordered, the satay was hot. It comes with the regular cucumber and onions and the peanut sauce as well. The cheese naan and tandoori chicken came next. Everytime I order the naan, I would order tandoori chicken as well. Seems to me that one cannot be eaten without the other. The tandoori chicken here was mediocre at best. It seemed overcooked, and very tough. Apart from that, it was also quite dry and tasteless. The meat was also quite little, as I can guess the chicken they used was rather small/skinny. I did not like it.The same cannot be said of the cheese naan. The cheese naan was very freshly made and full of cheese underneath. It was crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. Coupled with the awesome dhal, it was delicious! The food here seemed quite a mixed bag. I certainly will not be ordering the tandoori in the future, but the cheese naan was good. The satay was OK, nothing special. continue reading
