Managed to try out the different menu this time in conjunction with the #planbtakeover. Of course we tried the very highly talked about Singapore Chili Crab spaghettini,  Salted  Egg Yolk carbonara, Beef Rendang wafflewich and the Fries which comes with a choice of the sauce. My personal favourite was the Salted Egg Carbonara with crispy chicken crackling! it was so good to the extent that i would literally dip all the fries inside the pasta sauce. the Singapore Chili Crab spaghettini comes with a hint of lime. reminded me so much of our local laksa which tasted tangy and spicy at the same time. Never knew that the sauce could go so well with the pasta. However, the Malaysian Corned Beef Rendang Wafflewich was quite a disappointment as it was very dry on the exterior but the salad that came with it was very flavourful. We chose Salted Egg Yolk sauce for the Skin on Fries to share but also, the sauce provided was too little, so we didn't end up finishing it.service could be abit more prompt next time. continue reading

I managed to give Plan B's latest new temporary spin to their menu, which is the Plan B Kitchen TakeOver, featuring new creations. My companions and I have decided to have the salted egg carbonara, singaporean chilli crab spaghettini as well as the malaysian beef rendang wafflewich! We had to skip the desserts that night as the selections offered was not impressive. That aside, the savouries itself were really satisfying.Everything with salted egg yolk sauce seems all the rage now, with creations coming up in pastas and now as dippings to go with fries.I also managed to sample their skin on fries with a selection of dipping, my choice of salted egg yolk sauce. The saltiness was not overwhelming at all, but the portion was too little to have it all with the fries. continue reading

After dinner, the girls and I wanted some sweet treat while we got some time to catch up on all that's happened in our lives. Since we were already in Bangsar Village, the automatic suggestion was Plan B.Not too great of a greeting since we waited almost five minutes at the entrance where there's a sign that says 'please wait to be seated'. However nobody came until we led ourselves to an empty table where it took another five minutes just to get a waiter's attention so we could have a menu.Maybe because it was slightly late so the staff are all busy doing I don't know what, but I hardly saw any waiters around. That's why it took us another five minutes to get our orders placed. Luckily we were only there for their desserts which are already pre-made anyway or else we'd be there till midnight and still not be able to get our sweet treats. We ordered two to share. First is the Apple Crumble that came with a scoop of ice cream and while it was warm, this was not the best that there is in the market. Though I do like the crunch on top of the crumble which proved as a nice contrast to the mushed up apple filling. The only thing is I found it overly sweet before even taking a bite of crumble with an ice cream, so slightly disappointing. Then we also got another dessert which was their Lemon Meringue tart which happens to be my favourite. Although they do do this justice as the curd was tart enough but the pastry shell was slightly hard and might be because it's been sitting in the fridge for a while. The meringue on the top was properly bruleed but lacked any distinct flavour so it was just meh.Overall, I like coming to Plan B just to hang and grab a coffee, but that is about it.  continue reading

We were in Bangsar Village are for dinner. I was wondering what to eat. My friend brought me to Plan B and that was exactly the place I have always wondered why many people go there when all they are known for is just pasta. My friend recommended I try the Spicy Spaghettilini. It was a tad too oily for me with just a few miserable pieces flakes of duck and dried chilli. That is all! To me, it was not worth the money spent there at all. My mother could have easily cooked that herself. I love the Wild Mushroom Soup a lot. There were a lot of mushroom chunks in the soup and it was not as diluted and milky as the one at Pizza Hut which is more like cream plus a lot of water! No wonder the mushroom soup costs RM 13 whereas the one at Pizza Hut costs about RM 5-6.The Watermelon Lychee Freeze Drink (RM 8) was quite tasty. I liked the blend of both fruits. The place near the back was a too hot for my friend. He was seriously perspiring so much.  continue reading

Looks like something that would be typically served at Pasta Zanmai, doesn't it? The soft shell crab is very crispy, but I find that it's more batter and soft shell rather than meat. The pasta is plenty but tastes very uninspired - just lots of plain cream taste. continue reading
