Feels like I'm back in Bali with its Balinese furniture, ambiance music, decor and the servers dressing. Except that the service here is much much faster than what you get if you dine at Bali. I was
during my first visit to Bali because the service at restaurants are so slow. Turns out that actually that's how they live there. I had to learn to relax and enjoy the slow pace of my holiday in Bali. However, even thought they are faster here, but they are not as friendly
My order is Satay Lilit, it reminds me of otak otak, without the red coloring. Seafood paste wrapping a lemongrass and grilled. I find it a bit oily and lacking the 'bakar' feel. After eating 3 sticks, I felt quite 'jelak' and wanted to trade a stick with my friend who let me try some of 'Siap Memangang' which is grilled chicken.
The chicken is not so well marinated and grilled and almost tasted raw/ old chicken in fridge taste. While I appreciate that they do not overgrill everything into charcoal, but under grilling is quite unacceptable.
The sambal dipping sauce is quite mediocre, perhaps its been localised for Malaysian's tastebud. The spring onion dip with ginger and lemongrass (my guess) is nice though.
The nasi kuning ( yellow rice) is not as nice those in Bali because the difference of the rice used. Indonesia and Thailand has the yummiest rice, even if you eat by the roadside, their rice quality is better than some of our restaurants.
I'm very happy with my choice of drink tho: Roselle with sour plum RM12. It's very refreshing and satisfying. I might
give the place a try again with different order.
MSG level is low.
